I’m about 2 weeks earlier getting my annual family Christmas gift guide published this year. For two reasons, the first is that this blog and my freelance writing work is now my full-time job so I’m more organised. Secondly, it’s predicted that although shoppers won’t necessarily spend more this Christmas compared to 2019, many more people will be shopping online versus in-store. There could be an impact on delivery waiting times and therefore shoppers are advised to start their online shopping earlier. Hence getting my Christmas gift ideas published for you to make a start! You can still check out last year’s bumper gift guide for ideas.
Adult Gifts
In this section, you will find a mix of beautiful and useful gifts to give that someone special. All are available to buy online from the comfort of your own home.
Princess Merida Figurine
A gorgeous character from the timeless, magical world of Disney. The character-correct figurines from the Disney Showcase Collection are all designed by Enesco and available from Gift Giving All Wrapped Up. Perfect for Disney fans. Due to its delicate nature, this is a figurine, not a toy.

Dodo Pad Planner
I have been a fan of the Dodo Pad Planners for years. I love the layout and the quirkiness. We all know that 2020 has been pretty rubbish, but we can make 2021 much better and of course, you need a fabulous planner to help organise this! It’s ideal for a family of up to five to write their appointments and lots of room for notes and scribbles. There are 8 different size formats for you to choose from to suit your needs.
You can get your very own Dodo Pad direct from their website (where they have loads of other goodies!) *Amazon or any good stationery stockists.
One Family Christmas
How about treating your mum to a warm and cosy read for Christmas. One Family Christmas by Bella Osborne is just the one.

Decorate Your Home
I’m in love with this cool tropical neon love print from Ink and Drop. There are so many different ones to choose from, in all kinds of sizes to suit your needs. Cheering up the home with bright and colourful prints will surprise a loved one.
Experience Days
With Christmas at the end of the year, its always nice to have something to look forward to in the next year. This is where a gift of an experience day comes in. There is an enormous list of things to experience and do with Red Letter Days up and down the country. Even down here in Cornwall, like tickets to the Eden Project, there are a fair few choices! So why not gift your loved one something to look forward to next year?
German Black Forest Weather House
I adore this cute German Weather house made with wood from Cuckoo Clocks. The way it works is that when the weather is humid, the gut string inside changes its position and twists more or less. Therefore the female turns outside when it is dry and the male, when it is humid. It’s very quirky! At the moment it’s so damp and drizzly here in Cornwall I’ve yet to see the female come out!
10% discount on your Christmas purchase at https://www.cuckooclocks.com
Just enter the code “Christmas” in the Promotional code field in the shopping cart. Code valid until 20th December 2020.
Craft gift – DIY Crystal Art Notebook Kit
The technique is similar to painting by numbers. Each crystal art notebook design has a numbered, adhesive template. Using the magic pick up pen (included), simply lift up the coloured crystals and place them on the corresponding numbered dots. They affix instantly! The technique is relaxing and therapeutic, and the result is a beautiful piece of rhinestone art which you can keep or gift to loved ones.

I won’t start Christmas shopping until December, no idea what to buy yet!
I have chosen gifts for the children but I still have the adults to do!
I’ve not started yet but this year I’m looking to get family and friends a gift really personal to them for example a canvas of a beloved pet or family shot and a hamper of luxury treats you wouldn’t normally buy for yourself
I have started a little shopping but still not sure what to buy!
Mostly, but I’m still looking for more ideas for some family members and friends.
I haven’t even thought about it yet.
I’ve started a little but I certainly don’t know everything I’m buying!
I shop all year round to help budget for presents and treats taking advantage of sales and discounts. Almost done
Yes I was anxious to buy the grandchildren’s Presents as they seem to be flying off the shelves early this year, but I still have a lot more to buy for the rest of the family
Yes I was anxious to buy the grandchildren’s Presents as they seem to be flying off the shelves early this year, but I still have a lot more to buy
I’ve bought all my daughters Christmas gifts, but nothing for anyone else.
It depends what is on in the Black Friday sales, i have a huge list and will whittle them off in the weeks to come
I made a start back at the start of October, but this is the first year I have started this early and mainly because it’s our first Christmas with a baby so I didn’t want there to be as much of an expense going out in one month. Some family members are really easy other will take a lot more though as to what to get them.
I’ve got a couple of presents so far, great gift guide
Have a few bits and bobs in, no firm ideas as of yet but know what everyone likes so looking for ideas as I go along
I’ve done a little bit of shopping for my nephews (books and toys) but still have a lot to buy for the rest of my family. I think I may have a go at making some chocolate truffles as gifts 🙂
I have bought most of the presents.
yes i started xmas shopping a while ago in fact i’ve nearly finished
This has given me some wonderful ideas
I have done most of my shopping, the main presents are bought just have some stocking fillers to get for the grandchildren.
I’ve bought a few bits but still far from finished!
I’ve done most of mine pre-lockdown2 thankfully, just a couple of secret Santa’s to buy for 🥰
I have already chosen gifts for the children because this is fun but I need to get some for the grown ups now!
Not yet, struggling to know what to get this year. This would be an amazing help!
I haven’t started yet but I have got a couple of ideas!
i have not started the shopping yet, any other year the lists would be going around, but this year most people will be getting gift cards or money, things that are easy to post. just in case we dont get to see one another
I have started my Christmas shopping but still have a few more pressies. Happy Christmas xxx
I haven’t started Christmas shopping yet, although I know I will have to start soon!
Managed to buy a few bits before lockdown and now looking a things on internet from small businesses
I have bought about half of them gradually over the last few months . I love this bundle you are giving away thank you for a brilliant giveaway
I have started some Christmas shopping but still undecided on all the gifts.

Started but finding it so hard this year to know what to buy anyone!
about half way through, need to get a move on
I have some pressies but I miss browsing in shops for ideas for my family
I have made a start, but now I’ve come to a standstill. Christmas will be a bit different this year.
Not started shopping for any presents yet, but started the food shop last month by adding a few non-perishable items to my basket each week.
Yes started but stuggling to get presents for my oldest two – nearly there though!
Yes have started Xmas shopping
I have bought almost everything for my two-year-old, he’s really easy to shop for. Finding something for my mum, my sister and especially my boyfriend will be much trickier!
I haven’t started Christmas shopping yet but I’ve asked my family to let me know what they want, hopefully they wont take too long x
I would say about 75% of my Christmas shopping is done! I’ve just got my brothers to buy for and have no idea what to get them!
Yes more or less finished now, been shopping through the year and picking bits up.
I’ve got a few bits for my son but plenty left to buy and I don’t have ideas for everyone.
I have 1, need to do more but have an essay to finish first!!
I shop throughout the year so have most gifts already.
Look for bargains from January each year
I am a lot further forward with my Christmas shopping than I was this time last year. However, I probably still have at least another half of the presents to buy and I certainly aren’t sure what to get everyone.
I have started shopping, just a few bits at the moment. I know what my children would like but my parents, brothers & sisters and their children are a problem. The adults are really hard to buy for x
I haven’t started any Christmas shopping at all yet and I’ll probably get everyone gift cards and let them all choose for themselves.
I spent all day yesterday doung online shopping for my family, struggling with what to buy hubby though!
I’ve got a few gifts but there are still more left to buy when lockdown ends
Hadn’t even thought about Christmas shopping yet until I saw this. I probably wont start until December, I am one of those crazy last minute shoppers so this has certainly given me some ideas. I love the neon print by ink and drop!
Just starting to write ideas down – it gets harder each year!
I’ve got presents for my kids, lego for my 6 year old. A scooter for my 4 year old and Thomas track for my 2 year old. But brought nothing for anyone else.
All priority this year my family understand kids first 🌈❤️
Have nearly finished xmas shopping. Have a few vouchers and games to get now 🙂
I’ve picked up a few things through the year but am waiting for Black Friday for the big stuff!
started in september but lockdown has put a hold on shopping for me .i have asked family what gifts they want
I love that you include DodoPad, I love mine. If it’s not in the book it’s not happening!
I’ve done the bulk of shopping for my little one (though some great ideas here!) but need to get started on the grown ups. Can’t believe it’s only a few weeks away!
No I don’t start Christmas shopping until December.
I’ve started and have got most done except my dad!
I get my daughters birthday presents bought first then after 24/11 I start on Christmas
not quite yet, but thinking about it x
I have a couple of presents but I do have a list and know what I am getting for everyone, although as I now dont have a job now I am trying to buy cheap but lovely unique presents. It’s also my daughter’s birthday early Dec so I want to get that out of the way before I concentrate on Christmas.
Yes I have started, but still so much to do
I have done some shopping, still got the bulk to do
I haven’t started yet. The only person I know what to buy for is Mum and she wants a DAB radio!
I have started today I am always last minute and I never learn I give my family a coucher then just concentrate on getting my daughter what she wants
I have all of the present for my Daughters but I haven’t bought anything for anybody else yet. Need to get moving soon! 🙂
I have done a little bit but still need to shop for a few friends and my fiancé – I have bought clothing and experience vouchers for my family
We are almost done. I just need to get hubby something from kids and pay my sister what i owe her on things we are going halves with then finished x
Not started yet. May do Xmas eve boxes but not sure what else.
I haven’t started yet and with the way the situation is with COVID-19.. presents are going to be very thin on the ground this year….. our parent’s and other family members live missions away and posting them would prove too costly.
Thanks for this amazing opportunity
I have started, but I don’t know what I am getting everyone yet. Hopefully I will get some inspiration soon.
Not started Christmas shopping as yet and as usual I have no idea about ehat to buy 🙂
I’ve bought a few stocking fillers so far. I have my daughters 21st birthday a week before Xmas so I have lots to buy yet.
What a super prize.
I haven’t started yet. I’m always so last minute and have no idea what gifts I will be buying this year.
I’ve not made a start yet no as I’m always last minute
ive not yet started but know what i want to buy for my daughter my hubby is a little harder tob uy for
I haven’t started my Christmas shopping yet but I have a few ideas – a pair of trainers for my son (I just need to figure out the size), some new jeans for my sister and some slippers and an afternoon tea voucher for my mum (I just hope she picks me to take with her 🙂 as it looks fabulous)
I have done majority of the wrapping and gift bags for my family and boyfriend . I’m ahead of where I normally am
Yes I finished it in lockdown 1! And wrapped it in this lockdown. Putting the tree up early to cheer us up.
I have a few ideas but havent started yet
I haven’t started shopping properly yet, just have a few small stocking fillers. My children have made lists of what they would like.
I’ve got bits laid away for stockings and we’re going to try and make some presents this year, seeing as we’ve got all this time at home! But I haven’t done the main buying yet.
i usually start my christmas/planning and shopping on christmas eve
have started still a few bits to get
I’ve technically started it, by buying my dad a fleece jacket to wear in the garden while he’s out with his telescopes, but we gave it to him already to make good use of it! Hah! Otherwise, not started it yet! I’ve got an idea what we want to get the in-laws, but not sure what to get my mother, who also has her birthday in December! Eeep!
I’ve nearly finished. I’m trying to buy experiences instead of things this year!
I haven’t started getting my Christmas gifts yet, I have a few ideas for gifts this year but haven’t got anthing yet
I’m thankful that I’m nearly finished as we have two birthdays in December too
I’ve not started yet. I’ve got some ideas but nothing concrete
I haven’t started my Christmas shopping, I’m always very last minute and I really don’t know what to get for anyone this year.
I mostly finished my little boys presents but need to start everyone elses yet
I haven’t started yet, but I’m hoping to get most done on Thursday and Friday as I have the day off. Realised today that it needs to be done ASAP in case we are told to isolate, can’t risk last minute this year.
Yes I have started. Shielding so I’m having to think outside the box this year! I know what I’m buying my parents – I’m making a food (lockdown!) hamper
Lots of quality bargains out there if you shop around which has been hard during lockdown but I’m glad I started at the start of 2020 with items I bought at great value, I just got remember where I stored them? Just got couple of gifts to get so well prepared this Christmas.
Not started yet, I think with lockdown its going to have to all be done online. Best start early.
All I’ve bought so far is a chocolate orange!!!! No idea what I’m buying everyone yet this year!
No i’m shockingly bad – always wait til December!
I havent started and I have no idea what I am going to buy yet!
Nope, haven’t started yet. Have a couple of ideas, but nothing concrete.
I have started picking some bits up for my children so I have a few things put away but I’ve still got a long way to go yet.
At present, I have yet to start my Christmas shopping. I’m hoping to grab a bargain in the Black Friday sales.
I think I’ve almost finished, and wrapped but I’ve almost room for more! I love Christmas!
I have nearly finished just a few bits and pieces left
I’ve done a few stocking fillers and try to spread it out over November and December
Havent started yet BUT I do know what I want to buy, have been making a list all year on my phone!
I like to shop early for Christmas, and as non essential shops are closing for lockdown in England, I think I will shop online from small businesses.
Have got a few things, but not much
I’ve got most of my stuff already. I buy stuff throughout the year and I also buy love2shop vouchers for the food shop at Iceland. I also buy a lot of things second hand if I can. We go on holiday twice a year so I am quite frugal to avoid us missing out on that.
I started earlier this year because I had a feeling we would end up in another lockdown, I’m so glad I did now. I’m not finished yet but at least I’ve started! Staying positive x
started some xmas shopping online already. Getting gifts related to my kids hobbies mainly so far.
I’ve no idea what I’m getting this year but I’m not worrying too much as long as I get to spend time with family and friends x
struggling what to get this year, just got a few bits so far x
NO I HAVENT I AM ALWAYS LAST MINUTE
I have made a start yes, I am going to give cash as a main pressie, then a little trinket or personal bit from Etsy, I have really streamlined it down though due to to reduced income xx
I have completely surprised myself with my organisation this year (first time ever!) and I am nearly finished. Toys and books mainly for the kids.
I have started ..w ell there was not a lot else to do in lockdown
No not yet I’m always last minute but maybe I should be more organised this year
I try to start earlly so that I can spread the cost over the year.
Some great Christmas ideas thankyou
Not really started yet although I bought my eldest son some fun ‘dad’ pjamas today, but I don’t really count them as it was an impulse buy! I have no idea what to get anyone & really should start thinking about it.
I’m afraid I started my Christmas shopping in the spring!! As soon as we entered lockdown I was very pessimistic and thought we might still be struggling by Christmas so I started looking for gifts for the kids everytime I went anywhere.
I’ve started shopping a little although I usually get Halloween out of the way first (which is also my daughte daughters birthday) I know what I’m getting most people, just my grandparents are a little tricky.
I like to start early as quite a lot to buy for, now I’m just worried about getting the gifts to people.
Got a few bits for my boys I like to start stocking fillers early and leave the big ones to later as they always change their minds.
No Should I have started?
I started some shopping for my daughter this month, and I’m planning to get more next weekend so I hopefully they will arrive whilst she is at school. As for everyone else I haven’t decided what to get them yet.
I’ve got a few. I haven’t got a clue. I miss all the Christmas gift fairs etc.
I shop from January to the end of October for Christmas having November and December off. I then start again in the sales.

I actually started mine in September this year! I happened to spot something that was the perfect gift for my daughter, so grabbed it while it was available and fresh in my mind. I usually start about the end of October, as many of the gifts I send have to be posted overseas.

I’ve made a start this month and bought some gifts for aunts and uncles as well as books and jigaws for the kids. Next month I’ll be buying clothes for the kids and painting/crafts supplies as well as a couple more gifts for adults.

I’ve got a lot of the stuff for the kids, I have no idea what to get my husband though. I think he wants to wait for the sales for golf stuff!
I’ve started buying bits and bobs, although I need to get cracking on making some presents. I have a pretty good idea of what everyone is getting
We have done a little bit as it’s my sons birthday next month so it’s good to get both when shopping at the same time.

Christmas is a naughty word this year, with everything happening during lock down and my wedding getting delayed, we’ve lost the little saving we managed to pull together so I’m hoping to have saved a little this and next month to be able to buy something for my son that isn’t underpants and socks!!!
I have started gradually to buy gifts for people online
I haven’t started yet , grandchildren’s birthdays in October and November , so they get sorted first !
I’ve pick up presents anytime of the year if I think it’s something perfect for a family member. But I haven’t got the kids big presents yet as I’m not sure what they will ask Santa for (I hope it won’t be the big Lego Hogwarts castle)

It’s far too early,
Apart from advent calendars,I haven’t started yet.
I’ve started! I’ve been super organised this year and as I’ve seen things I’ve either got them there and then or added them to an Amazon wishlist so I can go through and buy little bits and pieces throughout the year, when money has allowed. It’s meant that we’ve been able to spread the cost a bit better. I really want to make this year as fun and special as possible as I know it won’t be our usual type of Christmas.
Great idea! Yes I have started, just bits and pieces here and there!
