Mess Free Painting With Little Brian Paint Sticks: Mini Art Station, Giant Paint Stick and Paint-a-Puzzle Review | AD

I’m all for mess free messy fun! Little Brian Paint Sticks have this down perfectly. They will provide you with a clean, fun and convenient activity for your children. I must admit I love using them as well. In this post today I’m sharing with you activities can we do with Little Brian Paint Sticks and a review of a few items from the range.

We love paint sticks

The paint in the paint sticks is water-soluble solid paint that comes out of the stick by twisting it, just like you would use a glue stick. They are easy to twist for small hands. I really like that they are versatile. Easy to use on paper, card, wood, canvas and glass. The best bit! – No need for an additional water pot or paintbrushes. No need for overalls that come with messy painting. The sticks are easy to hold in small hands and their artwork will dry in less than 60 seconds!

The colours are strong and glide on smoothly on the surface you are using to create your masterpiece on. A paint stick will last for ages. There is the option to use the sticks with water if you are wanting a lighter, less strong colour. So used like watercolour paints for painting.

What activities can we do with Little Brian Paint Sticks?

There are endless ways to enjoy your paint sticks. Here are some of our favourite activities.

  • Tinfoil painting
  • Hand/foot painting
  • Window painting – yes they will come off any window!
  • Mirror painting
  • Pebble painting
  • Leaf painting
  • Cardboard box painting – Decorate your fort!
  • Layer painting – the sticks are particularly good for this as the paint dries very fast.
  • Decorating terracotta plant pots
  • Decorating jars
  • Black and whiteboard drawing
  • Fabric painting – design a t-shirt! (you would need the special Little Brian Fabric Paint Sticks for this)
  • Patio/pavement drawing – ideal for drawing your own hopscotch!

And I’ve just been told that you can use them to colour your dolls hair! How fab is that?!

You can use the Little Brian Paint Sticks for various techniques such as stamping, scraping, blending and doing dot paintings. The paint doesn’t crack, like normal paint so is excellent for long-lasting paintings you want to keep.

I bet you are wondering if the Little Brian Paint Sticks are washable? Most mums would want to know the answer to this important question. Yes they are. You might need to soak the stained clothes overnight, with a stain remover especially if it’s a strong colour.

The Paint sticks are perfect for early years, key stage 1 & 2. They have an age range of 3 years plus due to the choking hazard of the lids. Ideal for kids to use at home, on the go and in schools.

If you forget to put the lids back on they will dry out. This happened to one of ours that got lost. However when I found it, I rescued it by cutting the dry top bit off! Works again like a treat!

  1. I think these sound amazing. My daughter loves to paint but it always ends up messy as she slowly gets bored with it. I think I am definitely going to have to get some of these for my daughter for Christmas.
