As a family, all of us are open to trying out new foods for a healthier diet and also to help our planet. We are always trying to live a greener life. Doing our bit. My mum is virtually on a dairy-free diet regularly for health reasons and has tried the Violife vegan cheese range and really likes it! So when the opportunity arose for us to try it I thought why not? It’s great for the girls to try in their packed lunches as well as our family meals.
We received 5 great products from Violife. Original flavour grated, Smoky cheddar flavour slices, Original flavour slices, Epic mature and Le Rond Camembert Flavour.
Original Flavour Grated
L had a school trip this week and wanted to take her own packed lunch from home instead of school. I talked to her about swapping her usual grated cheddar for Violife’s grated. She loved putting it in her ham sandwich and was excited to tell her friends about her “new cheese” when they got on the coach.
Her verdict: “Mummy I loved the new cheese, can I have it on my beans on toast?”
I love the versatility of the grated pack. It’s hand to have in the fridge for last-minute beans and cheese on toast, sprinkling on spaghetti, adding extra to pizza toppings, nachos and of course in ham sandwiches. It melts amazingly on pizzas and under the grill for cheese on toast. Don’t forget to add a sprinkling of Worcester Sauce. Perfect!
Violife Le Rond Camembert
Can Violife Le Rond Camembert live up to the real thing? Not quite. But it’s pretty close. The texture is there but not quite the taste. I do know that one of my vegan friends raves about it though! So I will keep buying it for when she comes around next!
You can bake it in the oven or warm though in the microwave. Inside the box is a little booklet with vegan recipes so you can get the most out of your Violife Camembert.
Violife Smoky cheddar flavour slices
I love smokey cheeses and these slices didn’t disappoint. The smell is wonderful! I’ve been having the slices in my sandwiches for lunch! Mr B tried a slice in his burger at the weekend and it went down a treat with him! We would totally recommend buying a pack if you are having a BBQ with burgers. They add a wonderful taste!
Original Flavour Slices
The original flavours don’t have a “cheesy” smell to them. They are simple Violife cheese slices which are quick and easy to pop in a sandwich or under the grill on top of a crumpet! A great staple to have in the fridge.
Epic Mature
The block of Epic Mature was the best for me. It was the best taste, grated perfectly and ideal to use for lasagne toppings, cheese and crackers and many more cheesy dishes! If I’m being honest this will be the product from the Violife range that I will continually buy for the family.
