I have been meaning to write this post on tips for leaving the house with a newborn for a while.
Baby girl is 6 months old and leaving the house has got much slicker. We have our own routine now and she knows to wait and be patient while I pop to the loo!
Right at the very beginning, well 6 weeks after baby girl was born ( I had a c-section so wasn’t allowed to drive for 6 weeks) it used to take us 2 hours to get out of the house. I would throw my clothes onand have a quick spray of deodorant.
Yes sometimes there wasn’t time to have a shower!
Then there was the preparation of getting baby girl ready. I call it preparation because I used to prepare my self for any unexpected event that would put us behind.
I’m nearly 7 months down the line now after having a baby. I do wish I knew some of these important tips on taking care of yourself at the start.
Once you’ve had your baby, all of your focus will of course be on them. However it’s important not to neglect your own health too. To stay energized, happy and productive you’ll need to take good care of yourself.
Here are some of the things to consider after you have just had a baby.

Get Plenty of Rest
This might seem like an impossible task when you have a newborn baby. But ensuring you get enough rest is an essential part of healing, and being able to cope with this brand new situation. You could lean on your partner or friends and family at this time. Even if they can help with cooking and cleaning, it leaves you free to focus on recovery and looking after your baby. Having too much to do could easily leave you feeling overwhelmed, and so accept help from loved ones if they’re willing to give it. This will give you more time to rest in preparation for everything you have ahead of you.
We were very excited to be asked by Tommee Tippee to join in with the Tommee Tippee Ultra Games. All we had to do was take a photo of our little ones with the headband and medal on that was sent to us to take part in their games.
Now I’m a huge fan of the olympics and have been since I watched the first one I can remember. Which was Barcelona in 1992. This Summer because I’m on maternity leave I can watch quite a bit. I have really enjoyed the road cycling. gymnastics and swimming so far. I cannot wait until the athletics start. That’s my favourite.
Tommee Tippee are running their own games over on Facebook. There are lots of events you can enter your little one in. If you win they receive a Tommee Tippee Athlete pack and bottle. The pack contains a sweatband, medal and certificate.

This week is World Breastfeeding Week. As a breastfeeding mum I want to help spread the word about breastfeeding and how important it is for your baby, but we breastfeeding mum’s need some help from time to time.
Tommee Tippee have launched a campaign for the roles of dads in supporting the breastfeeding mums it’s called #Dad’sGotThis. I think this is a fantastic thing to help dad’s get involved. I know my husband would have loved to of helped me out in those early breastfeeding days when it was tough.
Well here it is – the 6 month review.
6 months have gone by now since the birth of baby girl. I can honestly say and I know my husband will agree with me that it’s been the best 6 months of our life.
She has brightened up our lives that no words can explain. Her smile is infectious, she is constantly happy all the time.
Even when she had the bad sniffles last week she would let out a beaming smile through the snot running out her nose!
If all babies were like her I would have lots!
