Kinetic Sand is so much fun! It’s the original magical, mouldable and mesmerising sand! We have been lucky to try out the Ice Cream Treats Scented Playset and the Beach Kingdom Set this week to share our thoughts with you in our Kinetic Sand Review.

All You Need To Know About Kinetic Sand

Kinetic Sand is safe. For me, that’s the most important thing. It’s non-toxic, hypoallergenic, and safe for playing. It’s made from natural sand and is wheat, gluten, and casein-free made. It has a fluffy-like texture, sticks together, yet flows and falls apart in your hand. As if by magic! Kids love it! It comes in many colours and is perfect for sensory play. It can be moulded and shaped just like Playdoh and doesn’t dry out – that’s the beauty of it! It’s “kinetic” so the sand sticks to itself therefore ideal for inside playtime with little to no mess to clean up! It won’t get mashed into the carpet – the bigger pieces can be picked up by hand as it sticks together. Smaller loose grains can be easily vacuumed or brushed up. You won’t find it sticking to clothes or surfaces! If Kinetic Sand gets wet, you can easily leave it to dry out in the air – if it gets too dry, it can be revived with a few drops of water mixed into it. But don’t worry if it gets left out overnight, it will be fine in the morning!

A final point to add – I find running the Kinetic Sand through my fingers de-stressing and very relaxing!

What We Thought

The first thing you notice when you open up the bags of Kinetic Sand is the sweet smell! The pink sand has a wonderful strawberry fruity smell, with the brown pack chocolate – yum! The white sand is delightful vanilla. L loves to roleplay and one of her favourite games is pretending to be an ice cream shop owner. So the Ice Cream Treats Scented Playset was perfect for her! She was in her element making ice cream cookie sandwiches and sundaes! There is a good amount of serving tools and ice cream toppers included. It was hours of play value which makes it value for money, plus Kinetic Sand never dries out, so you can create again and again!

What We Thought

We love that the box turns into the play sandbox – perfect for playing in and keeping the Kinetic Sand in one place. Genius idea! The sand itself feels courser than the original Kinetic Sand so it’s exactly like real beach sand. It feels like wet beach sand but dry if you see what I mean! You get a decent amount of Kinetic Sand in the playset so you can build your sandcastles with the castle-themed molds provided. This is so much fun! It feels amazing in your hands to squish and mould the sand. Again just like the Ice cream Treats playset the Beach Sand Kingdom is amazing for sensory play.
