Whether you have a morning tea break, afternoon tea or have a cuppa in the evening, there is one thing that always goes perfectly with your cup of tea – a biscuit (or two!)… okay, sometimes three or four, let’s be honest. Having something to eat with your favourite warm drink is nice but having the best biscuits is even better.
You might eat them straight out of the packet or dip them in your cuppa, either way, biscuits are the way to go. However, choosing the best biscuit to have alongside your cup of tea might be a difficult task – there are so many delicious biscuits, how to choose the one? Today, I’ve partnered up with Springvale Foods, fine foods wholesaler, to share some of their best-selling biscuits which they believe are a must-have with a warm cuppa!

Border Biscuits Sharing Pack

Why go for only one biscuit when you could have a few varieties? The Border Biscuits Sharing Pack includes Light & Chocolatey Viennese Whirls, Sweet Memories Butterscotch Crunch, Light & Buttery Chocolate Chip Shortbread, Chocolate Oat Crumbles, Buttery Sultana Melts and Divinely Chocolatey Cookies. As Dear Bear and Beany says, “The only downside of the Border Biscuits is that these will disappear from your cupboards too quickly, so be sure to hide some.”
Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Biscuits

Even though it’s in the name, Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Biscuits are less biscuits and more of a biscuity snack bar. Nevertheless, it’s delicious. It’s a tasty bar that consists of five layers of wafer biscuits, separated by four layers of caramel. If you haven’t tried this, drop everything and do it!
Hellema Peanut Cookies

These crunchy biscuits are topped with roasted peanuts, being perfect to have alongside your cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate! If you love peanuts, these are a must-try! Plus, at Springvale Foods you can get them in bulk, so you can always have them at hand for those midnight cravings (it will be our secret!).
Nairn’s Dark Chocolate Chip Oat Biscuits

Nairn’s Dark Chocolate Chip Oat Biscuits are simply the best. These contain no artificial flavours or colours and are full of flavour! Oat biscuits are some of my favourite biscuits to dunk in tea as these usually keep their shape. The last thing you want is to try and fish your biscuit from the bottom of the cup of tea… forget about it, it’s gone.
Do you like to dip your biscuits in your tea? Oliver’s Madhouse is a dipper like me, commenting in a recent blog post, “There is something comforting about eating a warm biscuit.” And I couldn’t agree more, It’s so comforting!
Interestingly, the NPR shared an experiment made by British chef Heston Blumenthal, where he found that “a chocolate-covered biscuit dipped into hot black tea did indeed have more flavor than an undunked one.” This was discovered with the help of a high-tech gadget inserted up the nose. The chef claimed that “the wet biscuit not only released more cookie flavor,” but the aromas also burst into his mouth more quickly.
