We are almost at the end of 2020, and what a year it has been!
There’s nothing to say about the year’s events that hasn’t already been said, and all we can do is cross our fingers and hope that 2021 will be better.
And with a vaccine at the ready, and light at the end of the tunnel, it may be an opportunity for us to make up for our lost year. With that in mind, these are just three ways to live your best life in 2021.
1. Stop and smell the roses
Take time for the little things in life and take nothing for granted. Make the most of precious moments and count your blessings.
One great way to make the most of time spent with family and friends is to break out your camera at every possible opportunity! It’s a beautiful way to remember special moments spent together, and you’ll never regret having so many photos of those you love.
Why not literally stop and smell the roses too? Spend time in nature, taking advantage of local green spots and parks if you have any. If not, dedicate some time to visiting them every once in a while. Time spent in nature gives our minds a well-deserved break and makes us feel
2. Don’t sweat the small stuff
So many of us get dragged down worrying about inconsequential things that don’t matter in the grand scheme of things. But in the fast-paced hustle and bustle of everyday life, it’s hard to adjust your outlook to a more peaceful one.
The key leading a calmer life is simply to take each frustration as it comes. When our kids, spouses or work colleagues do things that drive us crazy, take a moment to pause, assess the situation and ask ourselves if our reaction is proportionate, if it is productive and if it will help us solve the problem at hand.
Learn to recognise when things are out of your control, and redirect that energy into influencing the situations you can change.
3. Take the leap
What is the one thing that you’ve always wanted to do, the item you’ve always dreamt of crossing off your bucket list? It might be a small thing that’s important to you, such as a food you want to try or a film you’ve never seen.
Or it may be something bigger, like finally tying the knot with your significant other or even taking the chance to live abroad. If you need inspiration for the latter, Portugal is hugely popular with British expatriates thanks to its idyllic scenery, magnificent weather and stunning homes. Google images has plenty of evidence when it comes to the stunning views and golden sun, and a quick glance at Property Lisbon’s stellar site reveals why Portugal has become a top holiday home hotspot for Brits.
Whether you dream of another country, undertaking an adrenaline-fuelled adventure or simply taking the time to do the little things you’ve always dreamt of, the sky is the limit.
We hope these three tips help you live your best life in 2021.
