I remember when I was young getting home late from working evenings and popping a Rustlers burger in the microwave to fend off the hunger. It’s been a while since I’ve had one. So when the Rustlers Burger Hacking challenge came up with Britmums I thought I’d give it a go with the family.
See what we can come up with to turn an on the go snack which to be honest is more associated with students and people in a rush than families into a meal for the whole family. I will take on the challenge!!
So, I popped into my local Tesco to pick up the Rustlers Southern Fried Chicken Burger Twin Pack and had an idea in mind of what I can do to turn the burger into a somewhat healthy meal that the whole family would like. They cook in the microwave in only 90 seconds so quick to get on a plate.
On our shopping list to hack our Rustlers burger:
- Rustlers burgers
- Sweet potato fries
We popped the sweet potato fries into the oven to cook while we prepared the salad items and fruit. The Rustlers burgers only take 90 seconds so they were the last thing to pop into cook before assembling the burger.
Baby girl loves her fruit so I always prepare a little bowl of fruit for her to go with her meal.
This is the type of midweek meal which would be easy to prepare when both my husband and myself have been out at work all day.
A truly quick and easy recipe that I find simple to do when I get in from work. Rustlers burgers are also great to create a fun quick meal at the weekends when you may be driving here there and everywhere fitting into everyone’s social calendar. They provide an opportunity to get creative by adding toppings and sides to create a balanced meal. The fun thing is that kids and parents can dress up their Rustlers burgers according to their tastes, to create a personalised burger meal.
Why not pop to your local Tesco’s and try the Rustlers Burger Hacking Challenge. I would love to know how you would hack yours!
