The Lost Hat: Picnic Adventures Part One – Review and Giveaway

This past week I have been reading The Lost Hat: Picnic Adventures Part One to baby girl. It’s the first book in the Kitty Katz Club series by Sarah Milne.

The fascinating thing about this book is that it has an accompanying CD. Throughout the book it tells you when to listen to the appropriate track at that point. I love the interactive way this book brings music and words together.

Book Description

Kitty Kat is on her way to the Primrose Park for a picnic when she finds a hat at the gate. She takes it upon herself to find the owner of the hat and embarks on an adventure that will take her far and wide.

Kitty Kat meets the elegant Mr Swan and the Hip Hopping Mr Frog before taking a boat ride across the lake. Then she meets the famous Primrose Marching Band, dancing and singing all the way around the park until she at last meets the owner of the lost hat.

This enchanting story of The Lost Hat will have you and your child dancing and singing all day.

Our Review

We fell in love with Kitty Kat, she is so helpful and nice. She forgoes an ice cream at the park to carry on finding the owner of the hat. Her adventures take her all around the park in hope that the hat owner is found. When she does find the owner they become friends.

The Lost Hat is one of those lovely stories that you can read over and over again with your children. Especially with a CD that contains fun songs and music to keep little ones entertained.

The CD starts with the narration of the book on track 1. Then each song appears as a separate track on the CD – tracks 2-8.

We cannot wait to pick up and read book 2 and the rest in the series!

About the Author

After Sarah Milne wrote The Lost Hat, creating the characters, movement and songs, she was inundated with special requests by her students and parents to write more stories. Sarah wrote her second book and due to the success and continued requests she is now writing her eighth story. The Kitty Katz Club is full of uplifting, enchanting stories, songs and dances about friendship, bravery, team building, confidence and helping one another.

  22. Great little adventure. I will most definitely enjoy it with my daughter. The CD is a great bonus.
