Toy Review: Glam Goo

This past week I have been testing out the latest toy craze of Glam Goo. Yes you heard that right, using goo or slime if you wish to decorate accessories. I suppose it’s kind of a crafty thing but ending up with surprisingly cool items kids can wear or take around with them.

“Slime gets a sprinkle of glitter with Glam Goo customisable and wearable slime”

I had great fun with the two packs of Glam that was sent over to review. First up is the Glam Goo fantasy pack.

Glam Goo Fantasy Pack

The fantasy pack comes with two fashion accessories for you to add the slime in. A heart necklace and rainbow charm.

RRP: £14.99

This pack contains:

  • Container of clear slime
  • Heart Necklace
  • Cloud Charm
  • 3 x Glitter Decorations – mermaid wishes, cosmic dust and unicorn fuzz
  • 2 x Coloured Shimmer Powders – mint skies and magic hour
  • 1 x Bottle of Scent – rose mist
  • Information Leaflet

How to make:

It’s really simple to add the slime to the accessories. To begin with you start with a lump of clear slime and then mix in what you want from the pack. You can add sparkles, coloured powder and the scent. The combination is up to you. The info leaflet gives you some combinations to try or you can make your own. My favourite combo is the Story Book Magic one. This is made from mermaid wishes, unicorn fuzz, cosmic dust and the rose mist scent. Lastly just add your slime combination to the accessory and wear.

Using the slime from the glam goo fantasy pack

What we thought:

The slime is sticky, it will get everywhere so just make sure you have a clean play area to start and use a washable table cover like I used in the video below. It’s great fun to mix slime with all the decorations provided. The activity is one time use. Once you mix in the decorations to the slime and add to the accessories it cannot be undone. This doesn’t stop it being a great activity for kids. Plus I’m sure they will be proud of what they have made!

Glam Goo Deluxe Pack

The accessories included in the deluxe pack is the glitter purse and double ring.

RRP: £22.99

Glam Goo Deluxe Pack

This pack contains:

  • Large pot of clear slime
  • Purse
  • Ring
  • 3 x Glitter Decorations – cloud crunch, daydreams and unicorn tears
  • 2 x Coloured Shimmer Powders – pinky promise and electric blue
  • 1 x Bottle of Scent – violet vibes
  • Mixing spoon
  • Information leaflet

How to make:

Using the same principle as in the fantasy pack above you just start with the clear slime, add your decorations and fill the accessories and wear. Like the fantasy pack the deluxe pack has an info leaflet with some combinations to try. I liked the sound of the Purple Rain combo. This one includes pinky promise, electric blue, violet vibes and unicorn tears, but of course you are free to make your own unique combination.

What we thought:

The heart on the front of the purse can be filled with the slime as well as the compartments inside the purse. There is lots of slime in this pack to experiment with so hours of fun to be had. The purse is quite heavy once filled with slime but any girl would adore carrying around her creation. I guess with the amount of slime included in the large pot, the purse and ring could be washed out and more slime creations added so it’s possible to get more than one use from this set.
