It’s been so long since I’ve had the chance to write a family diary and roundup post. The last one I did was back in April for spring! Completely missed out on the Summer! But as I mentioned it’s been hectic! We had a very busy time over the school summer holidays. Me trying to work around the girls – the first summer I’ve had both with me 24/7! Last year little Dottie stayed in preschool until she started school. Grab a cuppa and read on for our roundup Autumn 2023!

Little Dottie

We had a lovely family holiday up in Derbyshire and stayed at Darwin Forest. It was hard and not much relaxing going on as change is a huge thing for Dottie. One of the hardest things for her is being out of routine. The first half of the summer holidays was better than the second.

Going back to school in year 1 for the autumn term has been a huge adjustment and tough on her. A new classroom and teacher has been difficult. It was making us question whether mainstream is the place for her. But after a chat with her teacher and the school SENCO and adjustments put in place for her, she’s very happy now and regulated. Just before half term, we had her annual ECHP review and we are all good with the school at the moment. It will be reviewed at the end of KS2.
