August Summer Holiday Diary: Summer Games We Love To Play

We are now around halfway through our Summer holidays! Hasn’t that time gone really fast? We’ve done loads already including our visit to the BlogOn Kids conference where we discovered lots of new toys and games. We have been to Heligan Gardens and had a walk around their fairy trail and made fairy wands. That was amazing and so much fun! And we have just got back from a week away at Bluestone. It was really hot there so during the hottest hours of the day over lunch we stayed inside our wood lodge and played summer games. L discovered a giant version of Connect 4 at BlogOn Kids. I showed her how to play it and we haven’t stopped playing it since!

Summer Games We Love To Play

The game of Connect 4 brings back many wonderful memories for me. My sisters and I used to be hooked on this game when we were small. We even used to get our dad to play it! It’s a simple game and hugely popular with all ages! Obviously back then it was the physical game we used to play, but now I’ve been showing L how to play a digital version on her tablet as well as the physical one.

We are a family that loves to play games. They are great for helping you to relax and take your mind off the day to day stress of daily life. Mr B loves to play logic and memory games, I’m more for the classic board games such as chess, checkers and of course, connect 4. One game I used to play as a student at college was Minesweeper. Do you remember that one on the old PC?

Other Summer games we love to play outside include hopscotch and catch. During the lockdowns, we used to draw the hopscotch game on our patio and play for hours. It was a great boredom buster when we couldn’t go anywhere.

What Summer games do you love to play with your family?
