The Cora Series – JORD Wood Watch Review

Last year I was lucky to be sent a stunning JORD wood watch for my husband to review. Over this past year he has had many amazing comments about how an unusual and unique watch it is. Some of these comments have been in his work meetings and others by random people!

This year I have been sent the cool turquoise luxury watch from the Cora Series. Made from Zebrawood the grain and colour has warming undertones. A sapphire crystal glass with Swarovski crystal number markers and it has a self-winding automatic drive system meaning no batteries are required. The power reserve is 36 hours.

Five Cost-Effective Workshop Ideas

If you are starting up your own craft business or opening your first Etsy shop, you might need a little bit of extra space. Using the kitchen table can do for a while, but as your stock grows and you need to hit deadlines for orders, you might need to get some more space and storage. Creating your workshop in your home can be challenging, and you might not want to spend a lot of money on an extension, or moving house.

Below you will find some great home workshop ideas you can put into action on a budget.

Summer House in the Garden

If you get a cheap wooden summer house, you might be able to get electricity in there. There are several designs that have plenty of windows for you to get natural light for working. Some of them have insulation, and you can get a portable heater in the winter. If you only use the summer house for your workshop, you can have matching wooden shelving inside, so you can store your raw materials and tools.

Orangery

You might want to get a lean-on orangery to work in. This way, you are never too far from your family, and get plenty of light for work. You can take up a part of the orangery for your tools and worktop, and the rest can still be used for relaxing and entertaining friends. Having this solution is better than using your spare bedroom that will be smaller and darker. On the other hand, you will need to move your items when one of your friends decides to stay overnight.

Loft Area

A simple solution is to turn your loft area into a workshop. Many people have successfully completed the project, and managed to get sewing machines and professional lighting installed. Make sure that you have professional loft windows fitted that are adequately glazed, so you don’t get cold on winter days, and get enough light to work with.

Preparing Your Oil Tank for the Winter

It’s unmistakeable – the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness is upon us. It’s always a pleasant time of year, with cooler daytimes and red leaves, but we all know that winter is not far behind and if you live in one of the 1.6 million UK households that use home heating oil, you’ll also know that it’s time to fill your tank.

We’re all familiar with the traditional boiler breakdown on the coldest day of the year so far – it’s a cliché, almost. This happens, however, because people don’t prepare their boiler for the sudden demands they’ll be putting on it when the mercury drops. If you use heating oil, you’ve also got the tank to think of. It’s not just about filling it, it’s about making sure there’s no cracks, no water in the system and some other checks.

There is always a saving to be had.

Our Families Need Us: Protect Your Family by Knowing What to Do After an Accident

We all know what to do to protect our families before an accident occurs. Three good ways are to make sure everyone wears their seat belts, ensure that your vehicle is in top condition, and focus on driving. But no matter what precautions we take, accidents are almost inevitable. The good news is that it is even easier to protect your family after an accident than it is before the collision.

One phone call to a personal injury lawyer representing clients to protect them is usually all it takes. The attorney can then take care of the rest, from the medical attention your family needs today to the financial compensation they need tomorrow.
