It’s Time To Rhyme! Picture Book Collection from The Book People

Everyday baby girl is learning so much about books, she has now started to use her finger and pointing along as we read. She will also pick up a picture book at random times and I can see her concentrating as she’s looking through it.

When we were asked to have a browse through The Book People’s website and choose a book from their “Hand -picked Picture Book Selection” I thought about getting her some fun rhyming books. The hand-picked selection has many books to choose from. You have the likes of the Julia Donaldson picture book collection as well as old favourite MOG. In fact there is something for everyone’s tastes.

Living Arrows 8/53 (2018)

This week, we haven’t had the chance to get out much due to the typical Cornish weather and my work shifts. I’ve only got 2 more weeks of work left now before maternity leave so we will be out and about more soon!

The photo above of baby girl is one her dad took of her and sent to me while I was at work. She is such a cutie, trying to stifle a laugh I’m sure!

She has been watching some episodes of teletubbies this week. It’s her new favourite show. She dances to the TV when they are on, going Tubbie bye byes, Tubbie bye byes! Then when it finishes bursts into tears! She is growing up so fast now and beginning to realise things more.

My darling sensitive girl. x

This past week has been very special. Someone turned 2 years old! I know everyone says this but where has the time gone? Here I am 30 weeks pregnant wondering where the last two years have disappeared. I’m sure when you have kids the time gets sucked away from you!

Baby girl’s favourite food is pizza. If you ask her “what would you like for tea?” her reply is nearly always “pizza” So we thought as a birthday lunch treat we would take her to our local Pizza Hut.  When we got there did she want pizza? No! She wanted pasta! I couldn’t help but laugh! Anyway thank god they do pasta. She enjoyed a whole bowl of pasta and more.

Here she is before we went out to Pizza Hut all dressed and ready to go. My older sister sent over the gorgeous Minnie Mouse Cath Kidston backpack to her that she loves to wear all the time now. She loves to stuff it with her PJ Masks figurines.

Each week seems to be getting here closer all the time! Here I am at 29 weeks pregnant and wondering how an earth am I going to cope with a newborn an active 2 year old in 10 weeks time! This past week we have had many more new words being added to the vocabulary list.  “Cake” being on of them and her surname “Bustin” Baby girl cannot quite say her first name yet but will pick up her pretend phone and have a conversation with her dad on it and say I’m …… Bustin, are you ok? yes, bye! It’s fascinating to watch her!

On Monday it was extremely cold outside, but that didn’t stop her coming up to me with her coat, hat on, wellies and her waterproof dungarees dragging me to the back door saying “out mumma”

So we spent half an hour outside in near freezing temperatures playing with her retro Little Tikes car. I say Retro as it was her cousins when they were small, so about 20 years old!

Choosing a Wooden Playhouse for your Garden

A wooden playhouse is the dream birthday or Christmas present for many children. Despite being located just a few feet away from the house, the playhouse is a world of its own to your child. This is the place where they might spend hours daily daydreaming, organising imaginary parties with imaginary friends, or even to hide away after a stern lecture. In other words, a kids playhouse will be an important element of your child’s life. As such, it would be prudent to do plenty of research before committing to buy one – and we’d like to offer some help with your deliberations.

Tips on buying a wooden playhouse

Wooden houses come in many sizes, shapes and theme. In order to buy the perfect house for your child or children, you have to first determine the theme that they like. A gingerbread shaped house? A Swiss cottage? A lodge? A castle tower? Show you children some images and gauge their reaction. After you’ve determined the theme, you can move on to the size. How old are you children? How big of a playhouse do they require? Do you need an activity or swing set attachment? Once you’ve established these criteria, you will be able to quickly filter out unsuitable options.
