Over the past few weeks, we’ve been playing some great online farming games for kids. With the weather changing as we go into Autumn/Winter being outside isn’t always possible so having things to do inside is always a good plan. And having grown our own apples, sunflowers, cherries, and various herbs recently my eldest is very inquisitive about how where food comes from. As you may know from other blog posts, I grew up on a farm so I love to teach my girls all about growing things! These are the apples we’ve recently picked!
The farming games available on Culinary Schools offer a delightful blend of fun with learning, allowing kids to explore the world of agriculture while honing essential skills. They don’t have any ads inside the game which is always a plus with kid’s games. There are a few ads on the bottom of the screen and sidebar, but they are not inside the “game” directly. Idle Farming Business is an addictive game where players plant and harvest crops, upgrade their soil and fertiliser, and build a thriving farm. I think the simplicity of the game makes it accessible for younger players while still offering enough depth to keep older kids engaged.
This game teaches valuable lessons about resource management and the importance of patience in farming. Plus the weather conditions! The visual appeal and straightforward gameplay make it a hit among kids, encouraging them to strategise and think about their farming choices.
Old MacDonald Farm Adventure
This game is aimed at younger audiences. It is a charming click game that introduces kids to various farm animals and the nature of farm life. Players can switch between day and night which is always great fun!
This game is perfect for preschoolers and early years. Its friendly sounds create an inviting atmosphere, making it an excellent tool for teaching children about animals and their roles on a farm. I do feel that the graphics are a little basic, but it’s good for what it is for younger children. My pre-verbal autistic daughter loves this one! It’s at the appropriate level for her to learn about the sounds that farm animals make and I help her name the animals. Her favourite is the rooster that pops out from behind the bush!
Molly of Denali Veggiezilla
This fun gardening game allows players to help Molly grow award-winning vegetables for the state fair. Kids will water plants, add fertiliser, and fend off pesky bugs to ensure a wonderful harvest.
Veggiezilla emphasises the importance of caring for plants and understanding the growth process. You read blog entries on how to defeat predators! It’s a fantastic way to introduce children to gardening concepts and the significance of sustainable practices. Don’t forget to stop the predators of the veggies and water your plants! It’s one of our favourite games to play!
