The Very Hungry Caterpillar Sainsbury’s Babywear Range

One of my very favourite books as a young child was The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. It’s fun, bright, colourful and a classic story that time will never forget.

Did you know that a copy is sold every 15 seconds? Over 44 million copies have been sold worldwide.

When we were asked to share our thoughts on The Very Hungry Caterpillar babywear range on sale at Sainsbury’s it was something I couldn’t turn down. I want to share this much celebrated book with my daughters and this gorgeous range of clothes and items.

Half Term With Sky Ocean Rescue – Dive In & Do It

It’s half term! Why not have some fun with Sky Ocean Rescue – Dive In & Do It?

Everyday we use single use plastic items such as plastic bottles, straws, coffee stirrers, plastic bags and food containers. These are items that are only used once then thrown away. These pose a threat to the sea and ocean life. It’s not only an issue that affects adults but kids too. Living in Cornwall with many beaches around, I see plastic bottles and tops many a time washed up on the beaches.

plastic pollution on the beach

This is why Sky has launched a 12-episode series, Sky Ocean Rescue – Dive In & Do It, which introduces kids to the issues surrounding plastics and discusses the problems they pose for our oceans and sea life.

Each episode suggests tips and life hacks for kids to dive in and reduce their use of single use plastics in a fun, interactive way. Ideal for activities this half term to keep them busy and beyond.

Ways to reduce single use plastics can include things like using a reusable bag instead of plastic bags. Use a reusable water bottle and paper straws. Ideas like these will help reduce the need of single use plastics and our reliance on them.

Dotty Fish Baby and Toddler Shoes – Review and Giveaway

Correct footwear is extremely important for first walkers. They must be comfortable and supportive to help those precious steps. When Dotty Fish got in contact asking if we wanted to try out their soft leather baby and toddler shoes, I thought it would be great to see what they are like.

We received a gorgeous yellow daisy pair in size 3-4 years for baby girl and a newborn pair in Twinkle Twinkle Mink size 0-6 months for baby dottie when she arrives in a few days.

The soft-soled shoes are expertly crafted, they have a gorgeous feel to them. I love the idea that they just slip on and off they go! There is plenty of room for growth and they look so comfy.

Oliver the Owl Review and Giveaway

This past week we have been reading Oliver the Owl by Sally Bailey-Young. We thoroughly enjoyed reading The Little Red Airplane by the same publishers Austin Macauley so was eager to see what Oliver the Owl is all about.

Oliver the Owl Review

Book Description

Oliver is a barn owl and he is growing up. The day he learns to fly is a great day and his new skill gives him the ability to observe the world. For instance, he watches the deer in the forest. He watches the children around the barn. He’s wary of the banging machine that’s used to scare the birds away from the crops. But most of all, he learns how things can help each other. When he discovers two old scarecrows in the barn he discovers how great it can be to make other people’s lives better.
