My daughter turned 3 a couple of weeks back and we had a lovely little tea party for her with sandwiches, cupcakes, balloons, party hats and presents of course! It was exactly what she wanted. She has loved reading our next review book – Freddie’s Birthday Party by Bessie Ann because it has a birthday party in it. She asks me at least once a day if she can have a birthday party!

It’s the perfect read for a 3 year old who loves birthday parties. Freddie’s Birthday Party is a happy book, with a happy story, happy illustrations and just makes you feel happy!
The book starts off with Jacob and his sister Georgia jumping on the bike to head down to the field for Freddie’s birthday party. Along the way Jacob and his sister pick up all of their friends who all have their own bikes or scooters.
When they are all at the party they have lots of good food to eat and watch Freddie open his presents. The biggest present is a Penny Farthing from his mum. Freddie is so happy and practices riding it with the help of his friends. He can now join their Bicycle Club!
The fantastic thing about this book is that all the characters are different animals and the best of friends. It’s beautifully illustrated by the author’s husband. It fits in well with the aim of the story – Be happy and enjoy
There are a few questions to answer at the end of the book, to ask your child. A good way to see if they have been listening if you’ve read it to them! This is a bit young for my 3-year-old, but a great way for older kids to get involved with the story.
