If you’re ever stuck in that awkward in-between moment (waiting for food to arrive, sat in the car before a long drive, or trying to fill the gap between dinner and bedtime without turning the TV on), this is the kind of game that saves the day.

We’ve been playing Would You Rather – Family Edition from Wicked Uncle, and it’s exactly what it promises: more than 200 questions that are silly, surprising, and guaranteed to get everyone laughing (including the grown-ups). It’s one of those games that takes about ten seconds to explain, but somehow turns into a full-on family debate.

The kind of game that gets everyone talking

This isn’t a board game with loads of pieces, rules, or set-up. It’s a simple card game where you take turns asking a “Would you rather…” question, and everyone has to pick which option they’d choose.

And the questions are properly fun.

They’re the kind of dilemmas that make kids howl with laughter and adults go, “Oh no… I don’t like either of those!”

Because there are over 200 questions, you can pull it out again and again and it still feels fresh.

It’s also great if you’ve got kids of different ages, because the questions are easy to understand, but still entertaining for older kids and adults too.

Perfect for travel, holidays, and those “I’m bored” moments

Wicked Uncle says it’s perfect for fun on the go, and I completely agree.

This is the sort of game I’d happily chuck in a bag for:

• car journeys
• holidays
• weekends away
• restaurants (especially while you’re waiting)
• rainy afternoons at home
• family gatherings

It’s also brilliant for those moments when you can feel the mood dipping a bit and you just need something quick to reset everyone.

This is such a good one if you’re looking for a present that’s:
