If you’ve got a child who loves anything that lights up, feels a bit “magical”, and instantly turns into a performance… this one is going to be a hit.
We’ve been trying out the Wandini – Colour Changing LED Show from Wicked Uncle, and it’s one of those toys that looks impressive straight out of the box. It’s a light-up wand (a proper long one too!) that creates brilliant effects as you move it around – and the clever bit is that it can look like it’s floating in the air while you’re doing it. Keep reading and then you have the chance to win one!

A light-up wand that looks like it’s floating
The Wandini is 60cm long, smooth to hold, and lined with LEDs. It’s attached to a hidden finger loop with a length of cord, so when you start moving your arm in circles, the wand can look like it’s dancing around on its own.

It’s one of those toys that makes kids go, “WOAH!” within about five seconds – and then they immediately want to show someone else.
22 different light settings (yes, 22!)
This isn’t just a one-colour wand that flashes the same way every time.
Wicked Uncle says it has 22 different light modes, with “every colour imaginable”, and honestly that’s what makes it so fun. You can switch through loads of different combinations and effects, which means it stays interesting for longer (and doesn’t get abandoned after one play).

If your child loves:
- light-up toys
- performing / dancing / putting on shows
- sensory-style visual effects
- anything that feels a bit “magic trick-ish”
…this is right up their street.
Easy to use: whirl, swirl and twirl
I really like toys that don’t require loads of explaining (or a parent reading a tiny instruction booklet while someone impatiently hovers).
This one is simple: once they’ve got the hang of it, it’s all about whirling, swirling and twirling to create different patterns and effects. It’s great for indoor play when you need something exciting that doesn’t involve a screen, and it’s also brilliant outside when there’s space to really get moving.
Rechargeable (thank you!)
One of my favourite parts as a parent: it’s rechargeable via USB.
No last-minute battery panic, no fiddling around trying to find the right size, and no “it’s stopped working!” drama five minutes before you’re meant to leave the house.
Wicked Uncle says it gives up to 3 hours of fun play on a charge, which is plenty for a good session (or several shorter bursts).

Why I think it makes a great gift
The Wandini feels like one of those presents that’s a bit different — not something you see everywhere — and it has that “wow” factor without being complicated.
It’s a lovely option if you’re looking for:
- a birthday present that feels exciting and unique
- something for a child who loves magic and performance
- a toy that encourages movement and active play
- a fun party-style toy (without needing a whole party!)
Final thoughts: a simple toy with a big impact!
The Wandini is bright, fun, and genuinely impressive once it’s in motion. It’s the kind of toy that makes kids feel like they’re doing a proper trick. And because there are so many light modes, it stays interesting rather than feeling like a one-and-done novelty.
If you’ve got a child who loves lights, colour, and putting on a show, this is a really fun pick.
*Just a reminder, the Wandini is suitable for ages 8+
