Fisher-Price Deluxe Kick & Play Piano Gym Review

Last week we received the Fisher-Price Deluxe Kick & Play Piano Gym to have a look at and share our thoughts. The fantastic thing about it is that it’s a product suitable from ages 0-36 months so we have tested it out with baby dottie who is 3 months old now and baby girl who is 29 months old. It’s great that they have been able to share!

Fisher-Price Deluxe Kick & Play Piano Gym

So what is the Deluxe Kick & Play Piano Gym?Well it features five light-up piano keys, a repositionable toy arch, and four musical settings that keep little ones entertained for hours all on a bright colourful playmat. That is of course soft and thick and totally machine washable.

There is up to 20 minutes of continuous, or short songs about animals, colours, shapes and numbers. For the bonus piano play setting, press the keys for real piano notes. My older daughter loved this part. It’s like a piano for her that she can carry around and play.

The Fisher-Price Gym comes neatly packaged in a box as shown below. It took us about 10 minutes to unwrap and put the whole play gym together. It’s easy to fix the hanging toys on the arch through the loops. You can also attach the toys around the playmats edge as it has extra loops. The mirror can go through the piano or attached to the arch.

Included is a detailed instruction booklet with each step on how to put it all together. Fixing the hubs and bases together was the trickiest part, after that was done it was really quick to do the rest.

  • Large keyboard with light up keys
  • 4 toys – monkey symbol clackers, elephant teether, lion rattle and a soft crinkly fabric panda
  • Self-Discovery Mirror
  • Arch
  • 2 hubs
  • 2 bases
  • Playmat
  • Screws
  • AA batteries included

(You will need a Phillips screwdriver for assembly)

What We Thought

I love the idea that Fisher-Price as a brand that understands the needs of babies and parents providing products that aid early childhood development and lets kids be kids. This play gym stimulates fun play and the chance for babies to explore through sound, touch and feel. Baby dottie loves to kick the piano keys with her feet. It’s lovely to see her giggling and smiling while playing.

At the moment baby dottie is fascinated with the toy arch and trying to reach up at the toys. She is on the verge of rolling over but not quite there.

The play gym is a really excellent product on the market for following each stage of your baby from birth to 3 years. Babies can lie on the mat practicing tummy time, then as they get older they can sit up at the piano as it tilts to a more angled upright position

It’s fantastic for teaching animals and sounds, colours, shapes and numbers, which is the stage my 29 month old is at. The toy arch can be repositioned at the front for more fun for older babies and toddlers. A huge bonus is that the piano can not only be on play mode, it can also be switched between the 3 smart stages – sense, discover and explore. Oh and you have the volume control switch as well!

Fisher-Price® Deluxe Kick & Play Piano Gym

We have thoroughly enjoyed trying out the Fisher-Price Deluxe Kick & Play Piano Gym, and I know it will be following baby dottie throughout her early years. I would highly recommended this product for helping with your baby’s development.

  1. very helpful post., we really love the Fisher price baby gym it’s fantastic product. Been using it for more than a month now. My kid started playing with it since he was 3 months old. And he still loves it. It’s a bit expensive but quite sturdy, durable and kid-friendly. And the little one loves tugging on those suspended toys.
