Easter will soon be upon us. It’s more than likely we will be still in this self-isolation situation. But that’s no reason we can’t still enjoy a little Easter fun. I live in a small village that always looks out for one another. Just the other day, someone was distributing packets of sunflowers outside their home for others to pick up. The village pub leaves food outside on the bench for others to help themselves. So we have come up with the idea of creating Easter Sweet Baskets using Swizzels for the others around us. To spread a little Easter joy amongst these hard times. I was thinking of backing an Easter cake but I thought a basket would be better for sharing around.

Making Easter Sweet Baskets

We obviously cannot get out to the crafting shops at the moment, so we have made some Easter sweet boxes and a basket with what has been lying around at home. My 4 year old loves crafting and drawing so she has been busy already with Easter crafts using bits from our crafting box.

I found an old wicker Easter basket and a couple of small boxes that we have turned into Easter Sweet Baskets. We then have been decorating Easter bunny and butterfly masks and making Easter crowns. We thought one of the crowns could go around the bottom of the wicker basket, or you could make these Easter Egg garlands which would be a great way to use up old newspapers.

Which is your favourite sweet from Swizzels? Mine are Parma Violets and have been since forever! Drumsticks bring back Summer memories, as kids, my sisters and I used to have great fun popping down to our village shop with a few pennies to buy sweets. Love Hearts are versatile for all occasions. Sharing with a secret admirer at Valentines, wedding favors, for corporate gatherings or just playing with your friends.

    1. This would amazing for my girls, during lock down. I’m a key worker, luckily I was able to get equipment to work from home, and my husband is a “shielded patient” meaning he shouldn’t leave the house.
