Making Easter Sweet Baskets with Swizzels

*AD- Easter Sweet Baskets is a paid post in collaboration with Swizzels.

Easter will soon be upon us. It’s more than likely we will be still in this self-isolation situation. But that’s no reason we can’t still enjoy a little Easter fun. I live in a small village that always looks out for one another. Just the other day, someone was distributing packets of sunflowers outside their home for others to pick up. The village pub leaves food outside on the bench for others to help themselves. So we have come up with the idea of creating Easter Sweet Baskets using Swizzels for the others around us. To spread a little Easter joy amongst these hard times. I was thinking of backing an Easter cake but I thought a basket would be better for sharing around.

Swizzels is one of Britain’s most loved brands. Situated in Derbyshire the over 90 years old family-owned sweet factory is something special. You can buy yourself or a gift direct from the Derbyshire factory. It’s actually not far from Mr. B’s family in Derbyshire!

Swizzels do a fantastic range of unique and personalised gift ideas for all occasions, especially weddings, birthdays, Valentine’s Day and Christmas. There are vegan and vegetarian selections available also. You can head over to their online shop here to have a browse. Delivery is super quick as well.

We obviously cannot get out to the crafting shops at the moment, so we have made some Easter sweet boxes and a basket with what has been lying around at home. My 4 year old loves crafting and drawing so she has been busy already with Easter crafts using bits from our crafting box.

Easter Sweet Baskets

I found an old wicker Easter basket and a couple of small boxes that we have turned into Easter Sweet Baskets. We then have been decorating Easter bunny and butterfly masks and making Easter crowns. We thought one of the crowns could go around the bottom of the wicker basket, or you could make these Easter Egg garlands which would be a great way to use up old newspapers.

Which is your favourite sweet from Swizzels? Mine are Parma Violets and have been since forever! Drumsticks bring back Summer memories, as kids, my sisters and I used to have great fun popping down to our village shop with a few pennies to buy sweets. Love Hearts are versatile for all occasions. Sharing with a secret admirer at Valentines, wedding favors, for corporate gatherings or just playing with your friends.

  1. Lovely I would share this with my friend who is volunteering to sew face masks and scrub bags and now scrub uniforms

  2. Drumsticks are my all time favourite! There is nothing else even similar to the flavour of a drumstick and they are an absolute classic.

  3. I’d hide this from the kids in my “secret cupboard” and eat them when they are in bed !! ha ha ha ! x

  4. Your idea sounds really nice and great for showing care in the community in present times. This prize would be amazing for me & my daughter and give us a smile.

  5. You sound like you live in a really lovely place! We don’t see much of that type of community spirit round here but your post has really inspired me! Lovely treats to share and the boxes and baskets are just adorable.

    1. This would amazing for my girls, during lock down. I’m a key worker, luckily I was able to get equipment to work from home, and my husband is a “shielded patient” meaning he shouldn’t leave the house.

  6. Oh WOW. This would definitely cheer everyone in my family up. They are so bored. This would certainly be a yummy Easter treat. I would hide them in the garden to make it more fun.

    1. Such a lovely looking basket! Full of sweets, very colourful and looks like a lot of fun to keep the children occupied.
