*Ad-gifted – We received a pair of Treads school shoes in exchange for this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
You may remember me mentioning Treads school shoes back in my Back To school gift guide a couple of months back. Anyway as you know L started preschool at the start of last month and she’s been wearing the Treads shoes to compliment her cute preschool uniform.
At L’s preschool, they do lots of outdoor activities in any weather so she needed a good pair of tough shoes to protect her feet. Just like her dad and I, L is a little clumsy so she is always tripping and falling when she’s running around too fast. Her old boots took a right old battering with scuffs and eventually the sole coming apart from the upper.
She has now been wearing a pair of the Madrid Treads for a full half term and they are still looking like new after a bit of a clean. I’m particularly happy with the deep tread on the sole of the shoe. It’s very grippy in the wet.
As a parent of a highly active outdoorsy child, a safe and sensible pair of school shoes is a must. Plus a pair of shoes that will last! My poor mum was forever buying school shoes for me as a child because they just fell apart back then. I was told off all the time for being “heavy on my shoes”. But Treads shoes have a 12 Month Indestructible Guarantee with each pair giving you a peace of mind.
What makes Treads school shoes different is that they are made using the “strobel” technique. Which is where the upper is placed into a mould and the sole is then injected around it creating one unit without the need for any gluing. This helps with foot flexibility and of course, makes the shoe stronger. I could have done with a pair of these when I was at school!
The shoe sizing is very good. We received a size 10-1/2-11 which was a tiny bit too big, but we have got plenty of room for growth. Plus the Madrid style comes with a removable EVA footbed to convert the shoe to the wider fit option. This will also give you more depth.
Overall I’m very happy with our Treads and L is too. She says they are comfy and good for running! I honestly think she will outgrow them before they would ever need replacing. They are made of strong stuff! Well worth the cost at £45.00 knowing the shoes will last more than a term!
Treads are running a ‘Half term’ sale at the moment, with some styles (not the Madrid) being reduced to £35 from the usual price of £45.
Treads have kindly offered a pair of shoes worth up to £45 to one of you. To be in with a chance to win, just fill in the Rafflecopter widget below.
