Our second game from Megableu to review is The Enchanted Ball. The girly side in me decided to choose this game for us to have a look at. The idea of dancing with your prince is just like something from a fairytale.
Oh if you want to see our other game review from Megableu it’s just here: Ultimate Spider-Man.
The object of the game is to be the first to gain 4 coloured stars and be the star dancer. They have to be the stars of the colour dress, from which ever princess was chosen. The game is for 2-4 players from 5 years old and up.
Included with the game is 1 game board and an electronic musical dance floor. 1 prince of course! 4 princesses with different coloured dresses, 1 dice, sticker sheet and the rules. The musical dance floor requires 3 AAA batteries which are not included. So don’t forget to buy some if you are giving the game as a Christmas or birthday present.
The pieces of the game are very small so worth remembering if you have very young children around.
There are two very sweet melodies that alternate throughout the game. With no on/off switch it’s much easier for children to operate the game. To activate all that’s needed is a gentle pressing of the prince’s head. It stops automatically after about 30 seconds. The princesses on the dance floor move around by themselves through the vibrations from the dance floor. They try to take the arm of the prince to dance with him. It’s really sweet to watch!.
Every young girl loves to find a prince to dance with, and that’s what makes this game special. If you are lucky enough to be chosen by the prince he will give you a star. I love the idea behind this Enchanted Ball game. It’s very entertaining yet simple to play.
I can understand why some parents would feel this game could be teaching their daughters that it’s ok to compete with your friends to win the affection of a prince, but surely you should realise it’s only a game. Princes and princesses have always been around in fairy tales for 100’s of years. It’s a part of the imagination and growing up.
You can buy the The Enchanted Ball from Amazon.
Would your little girl love this game?
