Are you and your kids ready to go for the gold? With the Summer Olympics in full swing, you won’t want to miss this list of Rio-ready backyard Olympics activities to keep your little ones on their feet and having fun!

Events
Create backyard events such as the Long Jump, Paper Plate Discus, and Squirt Gun Archery. Consider inviting over friends and neighbours and go about holding your own backyard Olympics!
Make the event more fun by creating your own flags. To make your own Olympic flag for the opening ceremony, get your flagpole hardware accessories in order and make it a fun family event. Have a browse on Pinterest for flag ideas.
If you got the crafting and DIY bug, why not create your own Olympic torch for your mini Olympic games as well? At the opening ceremony, the Olympic torch is passed from athlete to athlete until it reaches the last person, who lights the stadium cauldron.
Encourage your budding Olympians to learn about and represent different countries. Dress up in your country’s colours, march into the national anthem, and wave the country’s flag while standing on the podium!
Finally, learn more about Greece, the birthplace of the Olympics. Have lots of colouring sheets, quizzes, and puzzles on Greece for the little ones. Top the afternoon off with a Greece-themed party! Get the adults to bring over some greek themed food. Fancy dress is optional of course!
I hope you are enjoying the Olympics. We love to watch different sports every day. It’s good fun seeing activities like trampolining and synchronised swimming which you don’t see very often.

Cute! Rian would love this.
