Creating Beautiful Walls With Art In Our House | AD

We have lived here in our house for 5 years now and never got around to putting any wall art, pictures or frames up in our bathroom and downstairs cloakroom. It’s something I’ve always meant to look at, but other areas of the house were done first. But now is the time we have finally got around to creating beautiful walls with art.

Living in Cornwall by the coast is one of the best places to live in the UK. OK, I may be biased but it is true! I love to bring pieces of Cornwall and its coast into my home. So I knew straight away I wanted a coastal canvas from Photowall. Looking at a coastal view is extremely relaxing, it’s food for your eyes and brings a sense of serenity.

I chose the Tall View Canvas in 100cm x70cm for the hallway. It’s a great place to stop and look at it many times a day. When the winter weather comes, this canvas is a perfect reminder of those glorious summer evenings we have down here.

For our cloakroom, I wanted a statement wall art canvas that would stop you in your tracks as you opened the door. It’s also a very small room, so I wanted a bright piece that could brighten up the space and a view to look at that is dream-worthy. One idea that popped into my head was getting a piece of art that was a window that opened out onto a stunning view. Our small cloakroom only has a tiny window and as soon as I saw this Window Bay View canvas wall art I knew it was the one to complement it. When it arrived I was amazed at how beautiful it is. The colours and the detail, the canvas in real life is stunning! It’s the next best thing to opening your window to that view in actual real life!

My husband is very much into world maps so for our last piece of wall art we went with this gorgeous vintage map of the world, which has gone up in our family bathroom. Don’t worry there isn’t a shower in the family bathroom to spoil it, only a bath which the girls use. The colour scheme of the bathroom is light brown/cream therefore this vintage world map really goes well in this spot. It’s actually a nice talking point with the girls when they are in the bath.
