At the end of last month (March) I won a competition on Twitter with Rizopia. The prize was a case of Rizopia gluten-free brown rice pasta, It is free from wheat, egg, milk, corn, nut as well as gluten-free. As a fantastic bonus, all the brown pasta rice is also organic.
I received a mixed case of different pasta shapes and types. There were lasagne sheets as well as spaghetti.

My husband and I are big kids so the other night we thought we would try out the fantasia rice pasta shapes with a homemade Bolognese.
Cooking with Gluten-Free pasta
We boiled the rice pasta uncovered for 7-10 minutes just like you would with normal pasta.
We added a pinch of salt as it was cooking, stirring occasionally.
When it was cooked we had to rinse it with warm water.
We cooked our beef Bolognese separately and added it on top of the rice pasta. Our Bolognese contains extra vegetables which we normally add to help us get our 5 a day. We included carrots, peas, sweetcorn, mixed peppers and onion in the tomato sauce.
I love to add grated cheddar cheese to mine!
I was surprised that it just tasted like normal pasta, but without the bloated feeling you get afterwards. It’s very tasty as pasta can be!
Brown rice pasta is healthy, natural and very easy on the digestion system. It was great to learn that Rizopia pasta is available to registered coeliacs on prescription from your GP.
Last year I baked a gluten-free cake for my husband and his mate who is a coeliac it was a scrumptious chocolate cake!
Have you ever tried any gluten-free or other free-from products?

I won a competition for gluten free pasta too mine was made out of Quinoa -it tasted the same as pasta to me but it took less cooking .the pasta shapes were great but the spaghetti was a bit thinner than normal. It was very tasty and worth trying
Thanks for sharing about this company i’m going to try them out as my mum is gluten intolerant and this will be great for her to try.Good idea adding the extra veg to help with 5 a day !

I have a gluten intolerance and love rice based pasta…this looks great and so lovely to be able to have a classic bolognaise. I usually have mine with rice instead but this is worth a go! #triballove
