Family Diary – End of June Roundup 2021

I’m sitting here writing this and my mind has gone totally blank for what we did in June! I know we’ve had some really nice hot and sunny days, with a few heavy rain days in between. I really love to write up our family diary, fantastic to look back over on the months and years to come as the girls are growing up way too fast.

We’ve applied for Dottie’s 30 hours at preschool for September which we’ve spread over the year so she does 4 mornings a week throughout. It worked well with L when she did it. With only 4 weeks left of the school year, L will be moving up into Year 1. Not sure where her reception year has gone! She’s grown up so much right before our eyes it’s crazy!

Paignton Zoo

At the start of June (during half term) we had a fantastic day out at Paignton Zoo. The weather was amazing, the ice cream was delicious, and the animals were beautiful.

Heligan Gardens

We used our local passes to go to Heligan Gardens for a morning walk. We tried the long walk we haven’t done before – It was beautiful. I can’t recommend the place nearly enough. You can easily spend a whole day there and still not see everything!

Chorley’s

Mr B and I went out for lunch to our local South African restaurant Chorley’s. Our first time since March 2020! It was wonderful being child-free and getting back to normal.

Piglet’s Pantry

For the end of our half term week, we had an afternoon tea delivered from Piglet’s Pantry. Earlier in the year we received a voucher for an adults afternoon tea for some work I did. Not to let the girls feel left out we bought them the kids afternoon tea box each. The afternoon tea boxes were amazing! beautifully packaged and the food (lots of it!) was fresh and delicious. I was super imporessed with the girls boxes it lasted them for a couple fo days and there was lots of things for them to do, like decorating thier own biscuits and colouring bits and bobs.

Self Isolation

Towards the end of June, we got a notification that there was a couple of staff members who had tested positive at Dottie’s nursery so they had to close for 10 days and she had to go into self-isolation. It was a trying time, Dottie got a kind of cabin fever and wanted to go out. Thankfully the weather was good so we were in the garden. She couldn’t understand why she couldn’t go to nursery.

Squishmallows

We’ve been a huge fan of Squishmallows for ages and we were so excited to receive these beauties to share with you!

L is looking quite serious in the pic – she told me she was thinking about which Squishmallows she wanted next and if she had enough pocket money!

We absolutely adore the name cards that come with all Squishmallows so you can read all about them! Their likes, what they want to be and hobbies.
