Review: Squishmallows The Next Big Collectable

*Ad-gifted | We were gifted the Squishmallows in exchange for this post.

This week we’ve been having lots of fun (and a few fights!) over the new ultimate collectable toy – Squishmallows, from KellyToy. Exclusively distributed by HEXBUG here in the UK. You will be able to find them in major high street retailers like Clintons, The Entertainer, and Smyths. They have been over the pond for a while as my older sister won a Squishmallow in a competition over in The US. So when we heard about them coming to the UK we got a tad excited.

L-with-all-13-Squishmallows

Suitable from birth they make the ultimate companion for all ages. My girls have been fighting over them. Funny how both of them like Fifi the fox and Danny the dinosaur when they have 13 of them to share!

The Squishmallows are extremely cuddly and squeezable characters. We were sent the first 13 in the series to look at and of course have a cuddle and squeeze.

With a 3 and 1 year old who always want to cuddle the same ones, I’m glad they are machine washable on a warm setting and you can tumble dry on a medium heat.

With each Squishmallows (yes they are exactly like squishy marshmallows when you squeeze them!) comes a tag which includes their name, a little bit about them and their personalities, and a special code which you can register online at squishmallows.co.uk to win prizes and of course meet the whole squad. Plus download an adoption certificate for your collectible. You will also have the option of buying a special edition 14th character not found anywhere else. We can’t wait to add this one to our collection!!

I think the combined adorable kawaii-style design, collectability factor and very reasonable cost will make the squishmallows the collectible of the Summer. Then later in the year they are launching a special Disney collection and Christmas characters. We can’t wait!!

With each Squishmallow comes their own unique personality which I’m sure children will relate to. I believe this makes them so much more than a cuddly squeeze friend.

Here is a low down of each Squishmallow and their names.

Who are the Squishmallows?

PUFF the PENGUIN

Puff is a tech-fanatic penguin! He is the internet’s number one fan and is always searching for the newest thing. He’s also into robotics and has the most fun when he’s either building or coding.

HOOT the OWL

Hoot and his sister Holly are complete opposites. He’s quiet and likes to read and study, sometimes in his tree fort with his friend Cam. But…Hoot is also secretly a wonderful singer, but only when he thinks no one is watching.

SIMON the SLOTH

Want a buddy to just relax with? Simon is your perfect match. If you can’t find him, he is probably at the store buying another video game! He is the greatest video gamer on the block. He loves virtual reality. If it were up to him, he would teleport himself in a second!

FIFI the FOX

Fifi is your girl if you like to go on adventures! She’s travelled to the Arctic, to the mountains and is ready to go on her next trip with you. Fifi has a vibrant personality and is quite the little firecracker.

HANS the HEDGEHOG

Hans has seen every movie ever and loves to eat pudding, especially with sprinkles. When it comes to food, Hans is willing to try whatever someone puts on his plate, probably because he is so open to change and adventure.

CAMERON the CAT

Cameron loves to jump in and out of boxes, build forts with his friends Hoot and Wendy and use his skateboard to get around town. Cam also loves going to the beach to take cat naps with his friends but is always up for an adventure!

GARY the GIRAFFE

Nothing can stop Gary from reaching the finish line! You can’t miss his long legs on the track, as he aspires to become a future Olympian. Want to know the best part about Gary? He is fast on his feet and can solve any problem that comes his way!

DANNY the DINO

You will always want Danny on your team! Why? He is the king of games! Danny loves strategising for board games, puzzles, outdoor sports or scavenger hunts with his buddies.
