Here it is, my end of February 2021 round up! I can now shout from the rooftops that school is going back on the 8th of March! Homeschool is so not for us. I’m a parent, not a teacher. I’ve been trying my hardest to fit everything in – homeschool, my work, housework plus having Dottie a trying 2 year old running around. It’s tested me to the absolute max. But now as I’m writing this, we have only one week left of homeschool, thank goodness as phonics is driving me potty! I never learned phonics at school!
February saw my baby girl turn 5 years old! How time flies!!!! It was her first lockdown birthday and a homeschool day so we had a party for lunchtime and cake for tea! She growing up so fast.
Things we’ve tried this month

We were sent some wonderful smelling kids’ hand sanitiser to try from Ocean Free. It’s pink, full of unicorn magic and smells a cross between bubblegum and candyfloss! Last week we finally got our dentist checkup appointment after it had been canceled 3 times throughout the past year. The girls are pretty good at brushing their teeth, and I’ve been lucky to try out these fantastic products from Beverly Hills Formula. Books I’ve read this month
Over on Home in the Pastures this month, I’ve reviewed Not Without My Sister by Marion Kummerow. It’s a compelling and emotional WW2 historical novel. A tale of two sisters, a young Jewish woman and her little sister who were deported to Bergen-Belsen. The author was inspired to write this book after her visit to the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp where she saw an exhibition on the children in the camp.
One day while out foraging for food in the forest with their two brother’s they are warned not to go home as their Jewish family farm has been taken over by the Nazis and their parents taken captive. They become separated from their brothers and end up taken captive and sent to the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. On arrival, they are separated. Here begins the story of the siblings doing everything they possibly can to be reunited together again. They are tough girls that go through hell, but never give up hope of seeing each other again.
I have read a couple of other books, but have yet to write the reviews up! So that’s on my to-do list this coming week.
