Here’s to hoping the end is in sight of all the cold wet weather we have been having recently. So to get in a cheery mood I’ve been browsing online at what the “experts” predict to be the key fashion trends for Spring/Summer 2018. You may remember last year when I discussed the Winter fashion trends and how it was all chunky knits and a 70’s vibe. This Summer we are heading back to the 80’s!
Being an 80’s kid it was all about shell suits, frizzy permed hair and Back to the Future. In fact looking back now it was a fun decade of disco pop, neon colours, shoulder pads and leg warmers. It was great being an 80’s child! Oh and not forgetting the bum bag! I used to keep my white Sony Walkman in mine!
I’m a huge fan of bracelets. Now I don’t have the smallest of wrists so I’m always eager to find gorgeous bracelets that fit without looking too small. If they are quite fine bracelets I layer or stack them on the wrist to avoid looking too chunky!
When Boho Betty got in touch asking if I would like to review a couple of their bracelet lines, I thought I would try out the layering look. Their bracelets are exquisite to look at. At first I thought that they would look out of place on my thicker wrists, but it goes to show if you stack then this look will suit all.
The days are getting colder now. The other morning I had to de-ice my car at 5am before I could head to work! I wish I had a warmer coat on as well. So much for being organised!
I have been browsing online at the Winter clothes trends for women, hoping to get some inspiration for a new coat or jacket. The Winter fashion trends this season are chunky knitwear, the colour red, big hats and fancy footwear including knee high boots. All with a 70’s vibe. Checks and tweed patterns are also big this season.
Being a redhead the colour red doesn’t suit me. I’m more into greens/browns and turquoise shades of blue. If you saw my Autumn wardrobe checklist, it was mainly neutral colours and knitwear.
Last year I was lucky to be sent a stunning JORD wood watch for my husband to review. Over this past year he has had many amazing comments about how an unusual and unique watch it is. Some of these comments have been in his work meetings and others by random people!
This year I have been sent the cool turquoise luxury watch from the Cora Series. Made from Zebrawood the grain and colour has warming undertones. A sapphire crystal glass with Swarovski crystal number markers and it has a self-winding automatic drive system meaning no batteries are required. The power reserve is 36 hours.
My favourite time of year is here – Autumn. The colder days are upon us so now is the time to think about putting your Summer clothes away and think about your Autumn wardrobe.
According to catwalk, futuristic fabrics, and tonal dressing is going to be in this season, but what does that mean?
