CT Active by Cotton Traders: Premium Activewear for Real-Life Movement

If you’re anything like me, “activewear” is rarely just for the gym! It’s for the school run, a quick coffee, a brisk beach walk (hello, Cornwall), and the days when you want to feel comfortable but still look like you’ve made an effort.

Cotton Traders has just launched its new premium CT Active range, designed to celebrate all the movement you actually do. From a peaceful morning Pilates class straight to brunch, to browsing the local farmer’s market, to getting your steps in along the coast. The pieces are stylish, confidence-boosting and easy to wear in real life, not just in a studio.

My CT Active picks (and the sizes I chose)

I picked three pieces to try, all in sizes that work for my usual wardrobe (I’m typically a size 20 on top).

1) Stretch Leggings with Pockets (Dark Sky) — Size 20

First up: the Stretch Leggings with Pockets in Dark Sky (Size 20). These are the kind of leggings you end up reaching for constantly because they’re practical and flattering.

The colour is such a lovely alternative to basic black. Still neutral enough to style with everything, but a bit softer and more “put together”. The fabric feels premium and supportive without being restrictive, which is exactly what I want when I’m out and about.

And can we talk about pockets? If you’ve ever tried to balance your phone, keys, and maybe a dog lead or shopping list, you’ll know why pockets are non-negotiable. These are perfect for popping your phone in when you’re walking or running errands. And you can pop your keys in the rear zip waistband pocket.

Available in sizes 8-22.

2) Long Sleeve Slogan Sweatshirt — Size XL (oversized)

Next is the Long Sleeve Slogan Sweatshirt in Size XL. I love a slogan sweatshirt because it instantly gives an outfit that relaxed, sporty vibe, and it’s such an easy throw-on layer.

I will say: this one is oversized on me in XL. I’m usually a size 20 on top, but I honestly think I could have sized down for a slightly neater fit. That said, there’s something really nice about the extra room when you want that cosy, slouchy look. Especially paired with fitted leggings.

This is the piece I’d grab for a post-Pilates coffee, lounging at home, or those days when the weather can’t make its mind up and you need an extra layer.

Available in sizes XS-XL.

3) Oversized Long Sleeve Wide Neck Top — Size XL (very oversized)

Finally, the Oversized Long Sleeve Wide Neck Top in Size XL. This is such a versatile piece because it sits somewhere between sporty and everyday casual. Love it in this blush pink colour!

The wide neckline gives it a slightly more feminine feel (and it’s lovely if you prefer a softer shape around the neck). I can see myself wearing this with leggings for a walk, but also with jeans and trainers for a relaxed weekend look.

It’s one of those tops that makes you feel comfortable and confident. And that’s really what I want from activewear: clothes that move with you, but still feel stylish enough to wear beyond the workout. Just to point out – it has very long sleeves!

Available in sizes XS-XL.

How I’d style these pieces (Pilates to brunch to beach walk)

What I love about these three items together is that they create an easy “capsule” outfit you can mix and match.

  • Pilates / gentle workout: leggings + wide neck top (add a supportive sports bra underneath)
  • Brunch / coffee run: leggings + slogan sweatshirt + trainers
  • Farmer’s market / errands: leggings + wide neck top + a lightweight gilet or denim jacket
  • Brisk beach walk: leggings + sweatshirt, plus a waterproof jacket if the Cornish wind is doing its thing

Final thoughts

The CT Active range feels like a really thoughtful step up. Premium fabrics, flattering fits, and pieces that work for real life. I’m a big fan of activewear that doesn’t feel like a costume, and these are exactly the kind of items you can wear on repeat.

If you’ve spotted anything from the range you love, let me know. I’m always up for adding more comfy-but-cute pieces to my wardrobe!
