With spring in full swing and the sunshine finally showing its face, many of us are looking at how we can freshen up our wardrobes to suit the longer days and those blissful al fresco moments. If you’re heading to a garden lunch with friends or meeting someone for a coffee catch-up at your favourite outdoor spot, now’s the perfect time to embrace easy, breezy style with a touch of seasonal flair.

This season, Cotton Traders has launched a fabulous New In collection that’s ideal for those relaxed but stylish moments. Even more exciting? They’ve teamed up with celebrity stylist Tess Wright – you might recognise her from The One Show and You Are What You Wear. Tess is sharing her insider styling tips to help make the most of key pieces from the range, and honestly, her advice is spot on!
Here are three standout pieces for my Spring Style Refresh that I’ve been loving, perfect for creating that polished yet practical spring look:
1. Printed Super-Stretchy Crop Trousers
These printed super-stretchy crop trousers are an absolute dream to wear. The stretchy fabric makes them super comfy for sitting in the garden or strolling around town, and the cropped length is so flattering, especially when paired with a sandal. The navy print is subtle but stylish, giving you just the right amount of “spring statement” without going overboard. I’m wearing a size 20 ( I could have got away with an 18!) and they feel very flattering! Also available in a gorgeous fern colour in sizes 8-26.

Tip: Pair cropped trousers with a soft blouse to balance the silhouette and keep the overall look breezy!
2. Broderie Sleeve Tie-Front Top
I’m in love with this broderie sleeve tie-front top, it’s effortlessly elegant. The sleeves add a touch of romance and the tie-front detail gives it shape without clinging. Ivory is such a fresh spring colour and it pairs beautifully with the navy crop trousers for a relaxed yet refined outfit. I’m wearing a size 20, and there is plenty of room around the shoulders. I could have done with it being a touch longer in length, but that’s only to cover up my mum tum! It’s also available in a dusky mint green colour. Sizes 8-26.

Tip: Don’t be afraid to mix textures, broderie details can add depth to your outfit and give it that extra lift.
3. Lightweight Strider Sandals – Lilac
To complete the look, these lilac strider sandals are an absolute must. They’re lightweight (perfect for wandering through the park or a trip to your local café) and come in such a lovely soft hue. Lilac is one of the colours of the season, and it adds just the right pop without overpowering the outfit.

Tip: A pastel shoe can be just as versatile as a neutral, think of it as a modern twist on a classic.
So if you’re thinking about updating your wardrobe for the season ahead, take a leaf out of Tess Wright’s book and opt for simple, stylish pieces that offer comfort, colour, and a little bit of that spring magic. Cotton Traders has nailed it this season, and these pieces prove that looking good doesn’t mean sacrificing comfort, especially when you’re out enjoying that long-awaited sunshine.
