Today, I’m sharing with you a beautifully written children’s book called The Tale of Ferdinand Frog by Mark Hughes. A book full of bravery, love, song, and rhyme, and a story of how good wins over evil.

Book Description
Ferdinand Frog is in love with Felicity Frogmore-Frog, but his way to Felicity’s heart is blocked by the evil snake, Samuel, who is determined to take Felicity for his own.
You will be mesmerised by the amazing story of how Ferdinand and his friend, Wrinkleskin Rat, embark on a magical quest, overcoming many obstacles in order to meet with the wise and all-loving Osmiroid Owl, who opens Ferdinand’s mind and spirit to show him how a kindly and peace-loving frog can overcome the evil power and strength of Samuel,
the slippery snake, and win Felicity’s heart forever.

What We Thought
We love this book! It’s so sweet. How far would you go for love?

Ferdinand Frog moves heaven and earth to win the heart of Felicity. He has to battle Sam the evil snake who wants Felicity for himself.
The book is divided into 3 parts. The Problem, The Quest, and The Answer. Ferdinand is brave. Along with his friend Wrinkleskin the rat, they discuss the problem, they travel to seek help and advice from wise Osmiroid Owl, and then they have the answer to what Ferdinand must do.
The wise owl Osmiroid opens Ferdinand’s mind and spirit to show him how a kind and peace-loving frog can overcome the evil power and strength of Sam, the slippery snake, and win Felicity’s heart forever.
The Tale of Ferdinand Frog is a magical rhyming story, with words that are mesmerising throughout. Teamed with the most wonderful illustrations by Mike Church, makes The Tale of Ferdinand Frog a treasure for many years.
