As you know we love books and reading in our house. It’s always great to find new books for story time, and this past week we have discovered these fantastic playbooks. Not only are they story books but also a play mat and pop out building scene.
There are 6 different ones to choose from. Fire Station, Airport, Garage, Farm, Castle, and Animal Hospital.

In this post, we are reviewing the Fire Station storybook, building and playmat.

What We Thought
L is obsessed with Fire Stations and Fire Engines. When we are out and about we always have to go looking for a fire engine. If she hears any siren its the fire engine!
So out of all three of the story books we received, I thought we would start with the Fire Station.

How It Works
To start with you read the story, like any other book. In the Fire Station, you can learn about what life is like at the fire station. You follow firefighter George and his day at work. L was really intrigued by this part and was asking me lots of questions.

Next up you get near the middle where you find the cutout figures and objects. They are easy to pop out, no scissors required. They have little base stands you can attach to the bottom, so each figure and object will stand up.

Then all you have to do is fold out the fire station building and place your figures inside if you wish or outside on the play mat. L particularly loved the fire engine she could drive around the roads on the playmat.

A neat little idea is that when you have finished playing with the storybook, you can place the press out figures and objects inside the building and when you fold up the book, they will mostly stay inside for next time.
Overall we have thoroughly enjoyed this fantastic storybook and all the extras. It’s brought the story to life and helping with reading and learning through play.
