What We Thought

Stunning illustrations placed throughout A fish and His Friend, and they are bold, bright and full of details. We spent ages looking at these as we read through the book.

We don’t read poetry books very often, but after reading this one, we certainly will from now on! It’s perfect for my little reader to learn about rhyming words and poems. It’s lots of fun to read out loud even if some of the rhymes tripped me up if I went too fast!

The author has a lovely way with words and it shows.

Thank you to Austin Macauley for our copy.

  1. I agree with you the illustrations are just beautiful. I love rhyming books as for a grown up it’s so much more fun to read and just seems really upbeat and cheery.

  2. This looks like a lovely book. My grandson is learning about rhyming words in his school lessons at the moment so this book would be ideal for him
