If there’s one thing my family can’t resist, it’s a sweet, quick treat that makes snack time feel a little more fun. Enter Toast’em Pop-Ups – American-style frosted pastries that instantly transported our tastebuds to a 90s cartoon morning. Think of them as nostalgic, toaster-ready joy in a box… and yes, they’re as good as they sound!
We recently tried three drool-worthy flavours:
- Chocolate Fudge
- S’mores Frosted
- Cookies & Crème Frosted
So naturally, we had to do a full taste-test review, for research purposes, of course!
Chocolate Fudge – Mum’s Secret Stash
This one? Mine. All mine.
There’s something deeply satisfying about curling up with a good book (currently lost in a cosy mystery novel!) and a cup of coffee… and then adding a warm, gooey chocolate fudge Toast’em into the mix. It’s like a mini dessert, but no baking required. Bliss!

The kids loved the novelty of it, and my husband said it “tastes like an American camping trip” – not that he’s ever been on one!

Oh wow. This one is yum! It’s filled with rich, creamy filling that tastes like the middle of an Oreo, wrapped in a soft pastry, and topped with a chocolatey cookie-style frosting. It’s indulgent, sweet, and just a little bit addictive.
Perfect for:
- Sharing with the kids after school (but good luck sticking to just one).
- Tucking into with a glass of cold milk for that classic cookies-and-cream combo.
- A weekend breakfast treat when you’re craving something dessert-y.
My 9 year old gave this one her stamp of approval – and that’s saying something! She won’t let anyone else touch these!!
So Are They Worth It?
Absolutely! If you’re a fan of the old school Pop-Tarts, Toast’em Pop-Ups are a fab alternative. In some ways even better. They toast up beautifully (crispy edges, warm gooey centres), and they’re a huge hit with kids and adults.

Pro tip: Always buy more than one box. These little pastries disappear fast!
