St Ives
Known for its stunning beaches, beautiful harbour and vibrant art scene. It’s a gorgeous seaside town with numerous great eateries. Beautiful St Ives is a popular holiday destination in the southwest, not only do you have sandy beaches like Porthmeor Beach, you have the Tate Gallery and the Barbara Hepworth Museum with a sculpture garden to visit. In recent years taking the train from St Erth to St Ives for easy access has proved popular during the busiest Summer months if you are staying outside St Ives. You can explore holiday cottages in St Ives for your holiday home with seaside charm.
Penzance
A historic town with a charming harbour, Penzance has a great town centre to explore boutiques and get yourself an ice cream! If you are looking for a larger town to stay in Penzance is the largest most westerly town. It has the open-air seawater Jubilee Pool and the promenade to explore. Staying in Penzance is a great place for your holiday base to visit attractions such as the Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens, Minack Theatre, Penlee House Gallery & Museum, Polgoon Vineyard, and the Chysauster Ancient Village as well as St Michael’s Mount.
Porthcurno
A secluded cove with a lovely beach just a short drive from Penzance. If you are into your walking it’s a beautiful part of the south west coast path, with 2 hours walk from Land’s End. The coastline around Porthcurno is officially designated as one of the Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Cornish coast and you will see why. It’s truly a place worth visiting on your Cornish getaway.
Marazion
A town with stunning views of St Michael’s Mount and a long sandy beach. You will want to stay in Marazion and come back time and time again! We love to explore the beach here at low tide for sea glass, it’s the perfect place for sea glass hunters! When the tide is out you can walk the stunning causeway over to St Michael’s Mount, it’s a popular tourist destination and the main attraction of Marazion! Don’t worry if it’s high tide, you can have a wonderful short boat trip over and back. Marazion is a special place to stay and in a great location for exploring further towards Penzance, Land’s End and Sennen Cove in one direction and Kynance Cove, and The Lizard in the other.
Mousehole
A picturesque fishing village with narrow streets and a charming harbour around 2.5 miles from Penzance, Mousehole lies within an area of outstanding natural beauty. You can get fresh fish from fishing boats and independent shops as well as from nearby Newlyn. Steeped in history, Mousehole is one of the oldest towns with a fishing port, pilchards were exported to France as early as 1302! If you are looking for a small village to stay in, Mousehole is an ideal location whatever the time of year. They are well known for their Christmas illuminations in Winter!
