Kitchens are often one of the smallest rooms in the home, and many homeowners want to make them look larger on a budget. However, you don’t have to give up on your cooking space or eat outside to do that. Here are some simple interior design ideas on making your kitchen look larger and more spacious:

1. Use lighter colours and less clutter on the worktops
One way to make your kitchen larger is to use lighter colours on your walls and have lighter cabinets.
Having less clutter on the beautiful Bellagio Stone worktops can help make a kitchen feel more airy and spacious. When you have too many unnecessary and probably outdated items on your worktops, it can make the kitchen feel messy and therefore smaller. Practice minimalism. Probably easier said than done if you have kids, but having a clear-out every so often will keep not only the kitchen light but also help with your mental health as well. Tidy space tidy mind!
2. Get creative with your sink and look for unconventional plumbing fixtures that will save you space
The kitchen can be a space-cruncher, cooking in a small kitchen can be hard, so finding creative ways to store and arrange your dishes is always a plus. When you’re working on your sink, keep an eye out for these unconventional plumbing fixtures that will save you space!
Under-sink cabinet. These are often used to store dishware and pots and pans. It takes up less space than a full cabinet, so it’s perfect if you have a limited area in the kitchen. Pull-out/down faucet. This creates more room on the worktop.

3. Create the illusion of a larger space by painting the ceiling white
Painting the ceiling white is an affordable and easy way to create the illusion of a larger space in your kitchen. It can make your entire room appear taller and more spacious. For instance, if you have a low-ceilinged flat, painting it will make it look like you have much more living space than what’s available.
4. Install light fixtures that mimic natural light and fill other dark areas
Having good kitchen lighting makes a massive amount of difference to the room. I’ve talked about kitchen lighting ideas before. Not only it’s important to choose the correct lights for the mood you like to set. They also need to be interchangeable depending on the time of day for your lighting needs and in this case to make the kitchen appear larger. LED Spotlights and plinth lighting are great options not forgetting undercabinet lighting.
Do you have any ideas for making a kitchen appear larger than it is? I would love to hear your thoughts below.
