It’s my turn on the blog tour today for Doodle Cat Wears A Cape by Kat Patrick and Lauren Farrell. We took this book away with us on holiday at the weekend to read for story time in our hotel room. It’s a perfect read for getting involved in the story. It is book three in the series, but it can be read as a standalone.

What We Thought

A great book for young children. Bright bold and downright fun. Doodle Cat makes it his mission to help his sad friend, Pangolin. Full of lots of ideas Doodle Cat tries lots of things and uses his superpowers.

It’s a wonderful story of friendship, and how a hug although good is sometimes not enough. All young kids love superheroes and this book has that, alongside tea towels as capes! It’s designed to appeal to both boys and girls alike.

The illustrations are pretty good and fit the story well. Some pages are full-page illustrations, whereas others are not. It’s a great balance. A book to get the imagination flowing!
