World Kindness Day 2018 with the Humble Brush

Today is World Kindness Day.

What is World Kindness Day? – It’s a day celebrated annually on 13th November. On this day, participants attempt to make the world a better place by celebrating and promoting good deeds and pledging acts of kindness, either as individuals or as organisations.

Will you be doing anything for World Kindness Day? I’ve sorted out some baby clothes and toys to take to our  local Children’s Hospice shop. We did this with our toddlers stuff around the age that little dottie is now – 6 months old.

I’ve been reading about the Humble Smile Foundation, a really great cause to tackle oral healthcare around the world, so thought it would be apt to mention on World Kindness Day.

The Humble Co. are doing a kind gesture, for every Humble Brush purchased, a proportion goes to funding the Humble Smile Foundation – a cause dedicated to delivering professional and sustainable healthcare projects to the areas where they are most needed around the world.

The Humble vision is to prevent suffering caused by oral disease. This is not only achieved by providing the toothbrushes and toothpaste that we all take for granted but also by providing education and urgent oral care to vulnerable children around the world.

Did you know that 3.6 million plastic toothbrushes are made every year and most of them end up in the oceans or landfill. They contribute to all the plastic pollution on our beaches and in the sea.

The great thing about the Humble Brush is that it has a handle made from 100% biodegradable, sustainably grown bamboo. So it can be disposed of in your compost bin and will return to soil after a couple of months. The bristles are made of nylon-6 and should be recycled with plastics. You can use a pliers to remove them from the handle.

Designed in Sweden and developed in collaboration with dentists, the Humble Brush is also Vegan. Available for adults and kids.

Why not do your bit to give back by buying an eco-friendly and socially responsible toothbrush made from 100% biodegradable bamboo and feel kinder with every brush.

Available from Amazon, Boots, Superdrug, Holland & Barrett, Waitrose, Morrisons, Co-Op, Whole Foods & Health Food Wholesalers.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you have enjoyed this post.

  1. Sounds great! I hadn’t heard of world kindness day, we are currently putting together a box of items for the food bank, 1 item for each day of november to donate for christmas.

  2. What a great cause nice to think that something we purchase makes a difference to those less fortunate and it being eco friendly even better, I’m doing the reverse advent again this year for the local food bank, I’ve started already as they really need the bits before Christmas eve

  3. The humble brush sounds great! Today I’m sorting out a few books for our town’s first ever pop-up winter homeless shelter. They have blankets and pillows and funds covered so I thought a few books might help pass the time.
