Even with all the advances made by great minds, technology and the internet – family life hasn’t got much easier. In fact, it might be a little bit tougher these days thanks to the expectations placed on the shoulders of parents across the globe. All the little gadgets and apps we can use certainly help, but they don’t soften the blow much at all. Work as a parent is tough and that’s not all. Most parents are going to have some form of work outside of the work involved with being a parent. It’s tough work and its non stop – any parent can attest to that.
All this work means one thing and one thing only – stress and frustration. You don’t need to be told twice about the dangers of stress at all. Overworked parents in the office and at home don’t get much downtime at all. Stress adds to the woes of being a working parent. Even without work, parenting is stressful enough. Stress can seriously take its toll on the human body, from migraines and headaches to heart failure, high blood pressure and strokes. Stress is not something worth courting, not regularly anyway.
It’s unavoidable, but how do we deal with stress when it is clearly so dangerous and so frequent in our lives?
The answer is easy!
The execution of the idea?
Not so much.
What you need to do is find some ‘you time’.
How do you find this?
Well – you might only need a few minutes or a few hours, it varies – but you must, absolutely must find a small slice of time each day to devote to yourself. This is called self-care by some and helps recharge your batteries and keep your mind fresh in between days, and it is of critical importance to your well-being and health. Even the best motors cannot run or the time – so neither can you! Finding the time for yourself can be difficult with kids and work – but it can be done, you just need to be smart and tricky and find the time when you can for yourself.
What do you do during ‘you time’ though?
Well, it’s up to you, but remember the activity that you choose to perform during your ‘you time’ will change the amount of time you need. You see, if you read with the help of paperback club – you can get everything you need to know about paperbackswap here – you might only need a few minutes here and there. However, if you want to get a spa routine going, you might need an hour or two to get it all setup and performed. What you choose to do needs to reflect the amount of time you can find – really, and if you’ve got limited time, you might not be able to do what you want to do, so think about the time you have!
‘You time’ is super important and if you can’t find the time to take a step back, you might suffer.
Thanks for stopping by today.
