With less than 12 weeks until Christmas it’s time to start thinking about preparing for guests staying with you. Most people have family members stay with them over Christmas and we are no exception. My sister lives in Canada but always comes home for Christmas. She normally spends time at mum’s and with us, but because we moved into our new house back in June, the guest bedroom still needs some love. It’s the one room we use to dump unpacked boxes in!
By taking part in Bed Guru’s #GuestBedReady campaign it gives me the perfect excuse to declutter the room. Get it to how I want it to be – the perfect guest bedroom to get a great night’s sleep!
The main focus of a guest bedroom is of course the bed. I always prefer a normal divan bed for the spare bedroom because they can come with storage drawers underneath which is perfect for storing the spare bedding. Bed Guru has a great selection of guest beds to suit any guest bedroom.
Have you also thought about the versatility of your guest room? Well over on my other post you can use this bed to arrange your room in many ways to suit your guests.
Now that the bed has been sorted it’s time to have a look at those extra special touches that make a guest bedroom a relaxing space to stay.
As you know I love my mood boards, so I have come up with this one for ideas on colours and themes I would like for the room.
Guest Bedroom Ideas
I’m loving the grey theme at the moment, it looks classy and timeless. I think adding a feature wall to the bedroom would be a great addition as well as some of these soft furnishings.
Guest Bedroom Checklist
Here is a checklist of things to remember for your guest. You can also save it for later by pinning it to your boards.
Have I missed anything on the list?
What are your suggestions for making guest’s comfortable when staying with you?
As always I love to hear your thoughts.
Thanks for stopping by today.
