The other day I passed on my top tips for setting up and decorating a home office, but I didn’t go into much detail on furniture for your office space. I believe having good quality furniture for your office space will make it look professional especially if you have clients come to your home. For me being a blogger it’s highly unlikely, but there are professions such as accountants and advisors who may need their customers to visit them.
So what items do you need for your home office?
- Filing Cabinet or some kind of storage
- Sofa (maybe?)
As well as the comfy office chair you need a desk of course which is the perfect size, depending on your office area.
I will need a smaller desk as I won’t have a room for my home office. It’s most likely going to be at the back of the living room or under the stair alcove, but if you have a spare room as your office you can kit it out with some great furniture.
If you know you will be using the home office for your 9-5 job then why not kit it out with a little relaxing area for those stretch your legs kind of breaks. If I had the room I know I would have a desk and chair under the window. Then at the back or side of the room a sofa and coffee table. When I’m blogging on my phone I love to lie on the sofa, legs stretched relaxing into my own little world. Of course, I also read tons of books for reviews so another use of the sofa for me!
It’s always a good idea to check out reviews on comfy chairs and recliners like these at Ekornes Stressless Chair Reviews before you commit to buying. You could save yourself money and future issues.
Gosh, I’m now thinking I wish I had a spare room to kit out my relaxing zen office space!
I love to create mood boards when I’m looking for ideas on interior design, here is my office mood board.
Do you have an office in your home? I would love to hear all about it!
Thanks for stopping by today.
