Our Post-Pandemic Eating Habits

We all now talk about life before the pandemic don’t we? The things we took for granted like going out for a meal, or having a drink at a bar was now gone. When lockdown came immediately what was normal, now wasn’t. No more meals out with family and friends. Even takeaways were limited. It was actually quite a depressing time for many. Our socialising events were gone overnight. At that time we didn’t know if things would ever go back to “normal”.  Now today, things are pretty much back to where they were. Which I must say I’m thankful for. In this post, I’m going to discuss our post-pandemic eating habits with the help of Tastecard and has the pandemic impacted our eating out habits.

Our Post-Pandemic Eating Habits

As I mentioned earlier we took eating out for granted pre-pandemic. It was just something we did a few times a month. Now post-pandemic although we are now getting back into eating out more, it’s been more of a gradual getting back to it. Also, we now look into finding new places with different cuisines to try. This is of course with the help of a tastecard.

What Is Your Favourite Cuisine?

I’m not overly fussy to be honest, I just love to eat out! Our local Italian restaurant is pretty good though, it does great meals for kids. From the infographic below from tastecard, you can see that the popularity of Italian restaurants has more than doubled (204%). Search terms started at 18,689 in 2019 and jumped to 38,137 in 2022. Isn’t that figure crazy?

How Do You Plan Your Meal Out?

We always book in advance now compared to before the pandemic, it helps us to budget easier and it’s something to look forward to. It makes it more of a special treat! Like many, we are more cautious and want to get the most value for our money.

Do You Have a tastecard?

If you are not sure what it is, I suggest having a little look into it. With money tight for us all, a tastecard will give you amazing discounts on all the best places to dine out, making eating out affordable for all budgets. Like 2 for 1 meals or 50% off food at popular chains like Zizzi, Pizza Hut, Café Rouge, and Bella Italia, or if you love to support your local restaurants you can search for 2 for 1 restaurants near me and get your discounts there as well!

A tastecard is available for just £5.99 per month! So you can get all those amazing 2 for 1 offers at a range of restaurants around the UK and Ireland. tastecard members save an average of £18.88 per meal. Meaning one meal a month out would save you £226.56 a year!
