Hasn’t January been a loooong month? It’s been a fairly busy one for us with birthday parties, getting back into the school routine and not forgetting a snow day! Like usual here is our family diary roundup January 2023, so we can look back over in years to come.
Yes, we had a full-on snow day here in Cornwall! A rarity! In fact, the last time I remembered a full-on snow day was back in March 2018 when I was heavily pregnant with Dottie. I was still working at Tescos then and only had like 1 or 2 days left to go before I was on maternity leave. They wanted me to come to work even though I couldn’t get onto the main road, plus I was rhesus negative to any bang or bruise to my body if I fell meant I would have to go and have an anti-d injection. Their duty of care to staff was a lot to be desired! Anyway, that was in a pastime. Now I work full-time from home doing this blogging malarkey a snow day is a fun day with the girls!
My 40th!
A week into the new year saw my 40th birthday. I felt strange turning 40 as I don’t feel my age. Well, maybe after a broken night’s sleep! I can remember turning 30 and wanting to stay 29 for a few extra years! But I’m embracing my 40s, I have a wonderful family and my blogging business, a beautiful home with my books and chickens. I’m extremely happy! Cheers to the 40s!!
Snow Day
A week after the girls were back at school we had an unexpected snow day. It wasn’t predicted, everyone in Cornwall just woke up to snow! It was so good to be able to get out in the garden with the girls and have fun! The girls had their stunning farm print coats from Lighthouse Clothing which were insulated, and waterproof, to stay snug and dry in the snow! They are also perfect for blustery days!
Things We’ve Looked At and Tried
