Family Diary and Roundup December 2022

It doesn’t seem long since I was writing up my autumn family diary roundup now I’m back again. I must say this term has gone way too fast! It’s been a hard one getting Dottie settled into school and the daily school routine. But she loves going to school. She didn’t partake in her class nativity, but that’s OK. We thought it would be too much for her as she doesn’t like crowded places. She’s only 4 years old and there is always next year! L did amazing as a shepherd in her nativity play!

It’s been a cold start to December after a mild November. Last weekend we used our local passes to visit the Eden Project. We had a sleety/snowy walk down to the domes. It was great fun!

With the girls being now at school full time, it leaves me with more time for myself. Those 6 1/2 hours a day 5 days a week are great for me to get my blogging done, catch up on my Netflix shows, do housework and have time for me to relax without interruptions.

For the past month, as well as getting back into my survey sites to earn some extra pennies, I’ve been getting into playing these great free simulation games. As a kid, I was obsessed with games like The Sims and Hospital game. So it was a great nostalgic moment getting back into playing these types of games. OK, so they may be suitable for kids, but I love them also. Here are my favourite ones which I’ve been showing L to play. They are great for her to learn all about coding, money management and business. A perfect boredom buster for the Christmas holidays!

These two games are good fun and perfect for L who is 6. She loves jewels and flowers and playing shops – ideal! Flower shop is a cute simulation game where you need to serve your customers the flowers they wish to buy. You have to be swift or they walk off! Jewel Shop is a similar game.

I’m so proud of how the girls are getting on at school. L loves learning to play the recorder in her afterschool club. She has asked Santa for one for Christmas! Dottie has come on leaps and bounds since she started school. Her speech is coming on every day. She is finding her little voice and how to communicate her wants and needs by speech instead of using her hands or taking us to what she wants. I’m excited to see how she gets on next term at school.
