Formula feeding in preparation for heading back to work.

To begin with I want to say I have nothing against people who bottle feed with formula. I want to set that straight. I’m not here to upset anyone, but I’m voicing my own opinions.

So a couple of weeks back I made the decision to try to start baby girl on some formula. For when I go back to work in under 2 months. She then can have milk during the day when I’m not there. I have never been able to pump any extra of my own milk off. I seem to produce just enough.

My plan is still to breastfeed her mornings and evenings. So she’s still getting all the goodness from my milk.

Anyway so I read up exactly how to make the milk from on the box. The powder doesn’t smell too bad. I have a habit of smelling food before I eat it. Although technically I’m not having the milk.

When the bottle is made up and cooled to the correct temperature I try to give it to baby girl. She has a few sucks. Mostly chews the teat. I’m sure she thinks it’s a game because when she’s finished playing around with the teat. Her little hands start grabbing at my vest top and trying to rip my bra open to get to her boobie milk.

Book Review: i-spy – In the Countryside and At the Beach

When I was a kid i-spy books were all the rage. I used to love wandering around with my book and pencil looking for all the things in the book. It was great fun and was a fantastic activity for the Summer holidays. Kept me occupied for hours!

So when I was asked to if I wanted to review a couple of the i-spy books it brought back amazing Summer memories and I thought this will be fun! Baby girl is a little too small to know the concept of the books but it’s fun putting her in the carrier and wondering off around the fields looking for everything In the Countryside book. I’m always chatting way to her so it’s great for the both of us to get some fresh air.

6 Month Baby Review

Well here it is – the 6 month review.

6 months have gone by now since the birth of baby girl. I can honestly say and I know my husband will agree with me that it’s been the best 6 months of our life.

She has brightened up our lives that no words can explain. Her smile is infectious, she is constantly happy all the time.

Even when she had the bad sniffles last week she would let out a beaming smile through the snot running out her nose!

If all babies were like her I would have lots!

Why My Daughter Will Have A Different Childhood To Me

I have been thinking a lot about this the past few weeks. Why my daughter won’t have the same or similar childhood as me. Don’t get me wrong my baby is only 6 months old but it’s got me thinking already about what her life will be like as she grows older.

My Childhood

Firstly I want to tell you a bit about my childhood. As a child of the 80’s I grew up alongside my sisters (and later in the 90’s my little brother).

I used to have lots of fun playing around outside in all winds and weathers. Only coming in when it started to get dark. I used to play with anything we found. Not these high-tech games kids have nowadays.

My toys used to be sticks and a shovel and I would play with rocks.

Good Ole Daysm- childhood memories

I used to try to dig to Australia digging huge pits!  I would make camps under the trees. Collect pieces of smooth glass, rocks and pretty pieces of pottery on the old rough ground near the old mine workings.

Yes Me! A Childs farm Brand Ambassador

A while back I saw an advert on Instagram from Childs Farm who were looking for Brand Ambassador’s. As a new mummy to  nearly 6 month old now, I love to find out and discover new brands that I’d not heard of. Childs Farm was one of these. I love natural products that contain no nasties or are not harsh on baby’s skin. Oh and smell nice too!
So before I applied, I looked up Childs Farm and read up on what they are about.
