This weeks My Sunday Photo is of my favourite flower the Gerbera. This orange one has just popped out a few days ago on my kitchen windowsill.
When I’m standing over the sink washing the pots and pans I love to see the flowers on my windowsill. I also have my cactus on there and a succulent that my mum gave us when we moved in.
Come to think of it apart from the bedroom wi does all of the other windowsills have some type of house plant on them. My orchids are at the back of the house as the front faces the sun too much in the Summer and it gets too warm for them. Here is my 7 Hints and Tips on Caring for Orchids .
I hope you have a lovely Bank Holiday weekend.
Since the beginning of the year I have been looking for the perfect planner/diary. I’m quite fussy in what I want from a planner. It had to be perfect for me. I had heard about the Stick To Stigu planners from other bloggers and I really wanted to try one out to see if it’s the “one” for me.
The kind people at Stick To Stigu gave one of their planners for a review. I know we are already 5 months into 2016 and so obviously those first pages of those months are not going to get used now, but that doesn’t matter. I’ve still got months left of use to get out of it. Besides there are still the useful activities to do when you read back over.
I love the way Stick To Stigu describes their wonderfully wacky planner so I have had to include it for you to read!
“So what is it? Essentially an annual planner, a to-do pad, a notebook but also a rest and zest handbook hosted by the character ‘Stigu’ and a couple of his friends who encourage new habits in a non-judgemental, non-preachy way that actually works. Stigu shows how, with humour and compassion, through no-nonsense tips, practices, provoking quotes and inspiring illustrations, that juggling a crazy life is possible, and a good plan (plus enough rest and zest for life) can help.”
The first page introduces you to Stigu and what’s included in the planner. If you have any feedback on how you think the planner could be improved, Stick To Stigu would love to hear your feedback for later editions.
I love the yearly planner at the front. Perfect for quickly jotting down dates and holidays. It’s good to see the year as a whole in front of you, when planning things.
This is an example of one of the activities I saying about earlier. A really cute and useful addition to the planner. They help you to be more active, mentally as well as physically. The little drawings are adorable!
Each month has activities on a different theme. The month for May is the “Ground” theme and next month it’s “Play”. The activities are fun! This week’s activity is called Waking up your feet!. I love the little facts and quotes included on the daily diary pages.
I have had the planner now for a few weeks and in the photo below shows you how I m using my Stick To Stigu planner. I love to tick bits off when completed. It shows me that I have achieved something that day – hard when you have a young baby who constantly wants your attention!
Alongside each week there is a page for notes and weekly to-do lists. At the back of the planner is plenty of blank pages for extra notes and a 2017 yearly planner to jot down plns for next year.
I bought some really cool Reminder Stickers off Amazon that I just add where I see fit in the planner. There are all sorts of stickers for appointments, birthdays, housework, school holidays and dentist and doctor appointments as well as many others. You get 7 sheets of them in the pack.
What type of planner/diary do you use?
You can pop over to Amazon and buy this planner now.
Disclosure: I was given this planner to review. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I am a part of the Amazon Affiliates scheme so if you click the link and order, I will receive a little back, at no extra cost to you. Thanks if you do. x
Hello, this is My Sunday Photo. On Friday I recieved a lovely package from Canada from my sister. It ws full of baby clothes for baby girl ( which i will show you later in the week! ) and all these chocolate eggs for my husband and I. Unlike the eggs here in the UK which are foil wrapped, these eggs are in little plastic cases which split in half to open. Such a genius idea!
I don’t like Cadbury Creme Eggs, so my husband had them. Canadian Cadbury chocolate tastes different from the UK chocolate, in my opinion it’s not as nice. I would go as far to say it’s more of an atificial flavour.
The Fudgee eggs were the best. A superb fudgy centre, very chocolately and similar to a ganache. I got to have the Oreo one as well. That was very yummy.
Have you tried American or Canadian chocolate before?
What did you think of the taste?
This week with the warmer Cornish weather the sun has brought out my red azalea bush. It really is a gorgeous colour. My pink azalea is more in the shade so has yet to bloom. I forgot to take a photo of the white one in my garden. I just love the bright colours of azaleas. They just make me feel happy!
Last year I did a 7 Hints and Tips post on planting and caring for azaleas if you are not sure what to do with them in your garden.
This week I have chosen Cornwall as my Word of the Week. The reason I have chosen Cornwall is because it’s one of the most beautiful places in the country to live. I know I’m biased but I just cannot help it. I love to appreciate the natural beauty surrounding me everyday. So looking back through my blog pictures over the past year I have presented you with some of the best.
Today is a lovely hot sunny day which actually made me think of writing up this post for you. These photos were all took within a few miles of where I live. I feel lucky to be on maternity leave this Summer to enjoy Cornwall at it’s best.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
Have you ever been to Cornwall? What was your favourite place to visit?
Hello, It’s Thursday again so here is this weeks 7 Hints and Tips post. Today I am focusing on Ways to style your Summer dress.
After having a baby 12 weeks ago I did find it hard to pose for photos as I am still carrying some baby weight. But i thought I would give it a go as Summer is just around the corner and I have some BBQ’s and family parties coming up in the Summer so I would love an alternative to the dress I found a few weeks back.
The people at JD Williams offered me a dress from either their maxi dress range or just a normal summer dress from their other range. I opted for the maxi dress I am wearing below which has a gorgeous tribal print design. The top of the dress has elasticated shirring which is perfect for new mummy’s especially if you are breastfeeding. The straps of the dress are detachable as well – an extra bonus.
