Who doesn’t love Fireman Sam? I can’t believe he is turning 30! I used to watch him when I was small and then with my younger brother, so it’s something I want to do with my baby girl. She loves all the new cartoons and children’s programmes already but I want to get her into the older shows, like Fireman Sam. He is timeless and never ages!
It’s the start of a brand new year so why not try watching something new? Something you have never even contemplated watching before. Something you might have previously thought, no that’s not for me.
A New Year, A New You
My challenge for A New Year, New You is to sit down and watch some musicals! Yes singing and dancing and films full of happiness!
The usual films I love to watch are horrors, thrillers, the dark and serious side to movies. Musicals are a complete world away from those genres.
The list of musicals I’m going to sing and dance my way through are:
- Rock of Ages
- Singin’ In The Rain
- Jersey Boys
- Seven Brides for Seven Brothers
- High Society
We are huge fans of the Middle-Earth films. Years ago when I first went to see The Lord of the Rings – The Fellowship of the Ring in the Cinema with my sisters and brother I was immediately hooked. There was something about that film that was just out of this world. It made me a fan of Middle-Earth for life!
Now with the Middle-Earth 6 film collection released on Blu-Ray it completely deserves a look back at the most epic moments from the films.
Oh yes it’s that time of year again – Halloween! It comes a close second to my favourite time of year, Christmas. The best thing about Halloween is the dark Autumn evenings that have arrived, making it perfect for cuddling up on the sofa with lots of scary movies.
I have always been a huge horror fan since I was about 13. I used to read Stephen King books in English reading time at school. My favourite Halloween reading book as always been The Shining by Stephen King. I do have to say that the movie starring Jack Nicholson is right there at the top to watch this Halloween for that scare!
I’m an old school horror fan. Some of the new ones out just don’t have the scare factor like the original Nightmare on Elm Street and The Exorcist.
