Our latest book for story time is The Little Lotus Flower by Gregoire Hodder. Which we were kindly sent. L is starting to take a real interest in the stories we read together. For a long time, she’s always quick to turn the pages and has great fun in that. I know she isn’t always listening as well! But lately she will start asking about the images on the page and will think up questions.

What we thought
The book cover is warm and welcoming, you turn the cover and there is a space to write who the book belongs to. Little touches like this is great for kids to learn to take ownership and look after their possessions.
The illustrations pop out at you as you follow little Lucy the lotus flower’s journey of self-discovery. The journey of self-discovery that the lotus flower goes through is very apt for children growing up and learning about themselves.
It’s a wonderful story to read to both of my girls, L took an interest in the flower and the story. We have read it now a few times over!
A good book to keep in the girls’ library of books to keep coming back to. Well written and explained by the author.
I’d recommend The Little Lotus Flower for ages 3-6 years and deserves a 5 star rating.
